A lovely week in Waterhouse Manor🌤️

We brightened our days making paper tulips🌷 and enjoyed with tipples of red and white thy brought smiles🍷 We were treated to the beautiful sound of piano and singing from Gabriella Pineda-Rodrigues 🎹🎶 and even had a surprise visit from our alpaca friends for a resident’s birthday🦙💛

We’ve also started preparing for our Waterhouse Manor Bowls Challenge on 21st February, and finished the week with a fun game of bingo! 🎳✨

Tasty Tuesday! 😋

We started the morning feeling energised with brilliant chair-based exercises alongside our friends from the Extra Time Hub at Peterborough United Foundation 💙

In the afternoon, it was all about Pancake Day! 🥞🥞Our wonderful Kitchen Assistant, Max, whipped up delicious homemade pancakes with plenty of tasty toppings to choose from 🍓🍫🍋 Even one of our lovely district nurses enjoyed a little sweet treat!🩺

To top off a fun-filled day, we celebrated Chinese New Year🇨🇳🏮 with a themed dinner, music and some finest Chinese dishes!🐉🥢

Happy Moments from this week😁

🚌Our residents were invited to Wittering Primary School for a reading afternoon with the wondeful year 1 children
🕺🏻Enjoyed an exercise session
🎨Painted our homemade clay models
☕️A visit to the Salvation Army for a cuppa and see familar faces
💇Weekly visit from our hairdresser, making the residents feel great
🗣️We had a second language lesson with Carer, Pavol

What a fire-tastic morning we had with the amazing Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service 🚒🔥

Our wonderful local firefighters joined us for a grand tour of Waterhouse Manor before sitting down with residents for drinks, cake and plenty of great chats and questions. Then the real excitement began…we headed outside to explore their phenomenal truck & kit! Our residents got fully involved with trying on the jackets and equipment used when they’re out responding and saving lives!👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

A huge thank you to the team for the visit - you truly made our day with lots of smiles & laughs! ❤️

🚒 Community Fire Safety Information Drop-In at Waterhouse Manor ☕🍰

Join us on 10th February at 11am - 12pm as our fantastic Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service visit for an informal fire safety information session. The community are warmly welcome to pop in for friendly advice, a chat with the team, plus coffee and cake on offer too. We look forward to seeing you!😊

What a jam-packed week we’ve had!😅

From launching our very first Gentlemen’s Club with music, beer and a few competitive games of pool🍺🎶🎱 to peaceful lake walks, active chair exercises and plenty of midday dancing with staff💃🕺

We welcomed the library bus 📚enjoyed a fascinating language lesson with our carer Pavol which was super interesting! We also headed out to Peterborough for a cinema trip complete with lots of yummy snacks while watching Hamnet🍿🎬

The week was beautifully rounded off with painting, clay making & visits from furry friends 🐾

We cherish the happiness we bring to our wonderful residents at Waterhouse Manor🩵

Our residents baked and thoroughly enjoyed some delicious gluten free cookies 🍪 and took part in the Big Garden Birdwatch from the library with our binoculars ready and waiting for birds to perch 🪶with one of our residents proudly showing off their wonderful bird cabinet in their room🐦We also enjoyed a refreshing walk around the lake with the ladies, and Barbara treated us to a ukulele sing-along that brought back happy memories 🎶Finally our week wouldn’t be complete without our much loved bingo! 🎉
