Bode Pilates & Yoga

Bode Pilates & Yoga Hi my name is Bev and I am Bode Pilates and Yoga. I offer a weekly timetable of group, 1 to 1, and online Pilates mat, reformer and Yoga classes.

Pilates practice various every week but always focus on helping muscles and joints keep strong to help everyday function. For sports specific or rehabilitation I recommend 1:1 program. Group classes are about an hour and you can access in person at Marholm Hall or via Zoom if not convenient. I am also a qualified Peak FitCore instructor and currently based at at Castor Peterborough. Why Pilates is important - for me it’s enabled me to manage by osteoarthritis and lower back pain so I can continue to do the things I love - whether sailing, going to gym, walking the dog and the everyday stuff! Many people are prescribed Pilates by their doctor for the same reason - but if you make Pilates part of your weekly fitness regime you will hopefully prevent the impact and degeneration of overuse and poor alignment that everyday life and exercise can cause. The most wonderful week of learning thank you INEA YOGA🙏🏻. A beautiful space to immerse yourself spiritually,emotionally and physically ❤️ to connect and find true consciousness. The food was amazing too I will miss the veggie breakfast and our evening meals! Time spent getting to know strangers who become connected and friends through this wonderful experience of union ❤️

As the autumn equinox invited us to slow down, we gathered for a beautiful evening of restorative yoga and yoga Nidra, embracing the celestial shift with a community of gorgeous souls. We moved through a gentle practice of deep reflection and humble gratitude, allowing our bodies to drop inward and our minds to find stillness. This nourishing and grounding experience was a complete surrender to rest, preparing us for the cooler, darker days ahead and leaving us feeling centered and deeply at peace. Thank you everyone who was able to attend. Stay wonderful as you ALL are❤️ Until the winter solstice my darlings 🙏🏻Namaste

This week we are exploring the Five Koshas at yoga. This ancient yogic philosophy (those Upanishads were ahead of their time back in 600BC!) describes how our ‘entire being’ is made up of 5 sheaths (layers). They are interconnected and they all control who we are , how we feel and how we go about of our lives.

I put this ancient model to the test following a human error on my part last week where I let some people down as I forgot to cover a class. Whilst a teacher was able to step in it didn’t stop me feeling absolutely rubbish and disappointed in myself. (Sorry if you were in that class🙏🏻)…. Wanted to apologise but wasn’t given the opportunity. I absorbed the blow and let it weigh heavy on my conscience for days. When I look back I can see why my body was totally out of sort. My pranamaya (breath/energy), manomaya (state of mind) and my anandamaya (happy state) had been affected. I turn to my trusted mat and sat with my thoughts quietly. My body (physical) wanted to move and so I let it lead me. It was a lovely flow mediation movement with slow and deep asanas and poignant pauses to check in and reflect. With my external layer feeling freer I could start to peel back the next layer… It is said each layer creates meaning from the world around us and acts as a bridge between our inner and outer worlds.🙏🏻

What ever your reason for attending yoga, I believe we owe ourselves this space to check in and drop in. As we become more aware and present (unconsciously) we can allow the breath to take us on the journey to help understand and heal from the inside out shining our radiance to everyone!

So if you feel like exploring the Physical , Energetic, Mental, Intellectual and Blissful body why not come and join us on the mat!
