Mary and I braved the weather to go and see the poppies in Petersfield.

Mary was one of our residents who knitted a poppy along with other residents, staff and families.

It looks spectacular and is a fitting display of remembrance.

"We shall remember them"

Today we watched the service of remembrance from the Cenotaph, we fell silent at 11am and remembered our loved ones.

Trissie remembered the air raids and seeing the planes overhead.

Su spoke of her Grandparents who served during the second world war.

Roy reminisced about visiting a war memorial to find family names.

A very emotional day and one we wore our poppies with pride and thanks for those that have served on our behalf.

Congratulations to Paul, our Hearts of Gold winner for November 🎉🥳

Paul has been working at Steep House for 9 years and has always worked tirelessly to provide excellent medical care to our residents.

He also provides excellent advice and support to the families and friends of our residents.

A well deserved acknowledgement of his efforts, congratulations Paul 👏🎉

A lovely afternoon singing with T42.

We had a lovely time singing along to the music by T42.

With a variety of instruments and sounds and lots of familiar tunes they gave us a wonderful musical afternoon.

We finished off Halloween with some fun and laughter and a few good tunes like Monster Mash, the Addams Family, Purple People Eater and Ghost Riders in the Sky.

At lunchtimes everyone is offered a choice of juice, one of those is mango juice. Sat with Nora and Peggy chatting over lunch they said they'd never had fresh mango

Sarinya very kindly added Mango's to her shopping order and today we had a look at what a mango looks like and later what they taste like.

Nora loved hers and was very surprised that from something with very hard skin you got such a soft juicy fruit.

Peggy liked the fact it was very juicy but she thought it was quite chewy.

Rita nibbled at her mango, pulled a face and handed her fork and mango straight back to me!

Ray decided it tasted quite ordinary.

Trissie licked hers and declared she'd had enough.

It's always nice to try something new and we'll definitely be having mango again.
