Is mouthwash really necessary? 🤔

Mouthwash isn’t a replacement for brushing or flossing - those two do the real work of removing plaque and keeping your gums healthy. But the right mouthwash can be a helpful extra step. Some help fight bacteria that cause gum disease, others contain fluoride to strengthen enamel, and many simply help you feel fresher throughout the day.

That said, mouthwash isn’t essential for everyone. If you’re already brushing twice a day and flossing regularly, you’re covering the most important bases. And if you’re using mouthwash immediately after brushing, you might actually rinse away some of the fluoride your toothpaste leaves behind. A simple fix is to use it at a different time of day -perhaps after lunch or when you want a quick refresh before heading out.

Our advice? Think of mouthwash as a useful addition, not a must-have.
