📣 Meningitis Outbreak Update – Important Information for Our Patients

We are aware of concerns following the recent meningitis outbreak in Kent. UKHSA has confirmed 15 cases and is currently running a targeted MenB vaccination programme only for students living in halls at the University of Kent. This is not a wider public programme at this time.

UKHSA has said the programme may expand as they continue to assess the situation, but no broader rollout has yet been announced.

If you’ve been advised to check your vaccination history (e.g., by a university), you can view your past vaccines via the NHS App under your GP health record.

👉 Please note: We are not currently able to offer MenB vaccinations unless national guidance changes.
Be aware of meningitis symptoms such as fever, severe headache, vomiting, neck stiffness, rash that doesn’t fade under pressure, or confusion. If symptoms appear, seek urgent medical help via NHS 111 or 999.

Please be aware as of tomorrow there will be roadworks in Stoke village which may cause delays to traffic. We would be grateful if you left adequate time to arrive for appointments.
As unfortunately, due to our filled clinics each day we cannot guarentee we can see patients who arrive late.

As we approach the Christmas period we wanted to remind you that we are only closed on the bank holidays.

If you require medical assistance whilst we are closed either call 111 or visit a pharmacy for advice.

If you require urgent treatment you can visit Cumberland Minor injuries unit or the Dartmoor Building's Urgent Treatment Centre at Derriford Hospital.

For urgent medical intervention please call 999 or make your way A&E.

✅Families are welcome to attend but the event is not specifically for Children/Young People's mental health services.
