Poles APart AP is an Alternative Education Intervention Provision based in Plymouth who caters for Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall. We want to involve the entire community in our journey- communities that work together improve together! We have a strong ethos that every child should feel safe, happy and listened to and our programmes are created to make every young person feel valued, focused and have a healthy positive mind. Support for mental health and well-being is needed now more than ever and we believe that for some students delivering education in a therapeutic and bespoke way works best.

♻️ This week, our older primary students in Plymouth had a fantastic trip to explore Plymouth Play Scrapstore!

Fran took extra special care of everyone, giving a brilliant tour and leading a fun junk modelling workshop. 🛠✨

It was a great opportunity to see our topic ‘sustainability’ brought to life in such a creative and hands-on way! 🌍💚

Poles APart AP is looking for dedicated and passionate Key Workers to join our team, supporting children and young people across ages 4-18 (EYFS to 13). This is an opportunity to make a real difference, helping students overcome challenges and thrive in a nurturing, supportive environment.

📍 Location: Exeter and Plymouth
📅 Term Time: 39 weeks
💰 Salary: Starting salary of £19,878

What We’re Looking For:

✅ Must be willing to work with children and young people across ages 4-18
✅ Flexibility & Attitude: Proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused mindset
✅ Communication & Teamwork: Strong ability to engage with young people, families, and external agencies
✅ Safeguarding & Resilience: Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and confidence in managing challenging situations
✅ Driving Licence & Own Vehicle: Use of a car and business insurance preferred
✅ Right to Work in the UK: Must have the right to work without sponsorship

👋 A peek into learning with our primary students…

Primary are often busy with hands-on practical activities, including plenty of sensory play. 🌟

Sensory play isn’t just fun…it’s an important part of how we teach and learn. By exploring different textures, sounds, sights and movements, students develop:
👂 Better focus and attention
👐 Fine and gross motor skills
🧠 Stronger problem-solving and understanding
💙 Improved well-being and self-regulation

At Poles, we weave sensory activities into our everyday practice because we know learning sticks best when it’s engaging, practical and meaningful. 🌱
