❤️ Why First Aid Skills Matter at Home
When people think about first aid, they often imagine accidents at work or out in public. But the reality is that many serious emergencies actually happen at home, with family members or people we care about.
In the UK there are over 30,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests every year, and around 70–80% of them happen in people’s homes.
Even more worrying is that only around half of people in the UK feel confident performing CPR on a loved one if it happened in front of them.
That means many of these life threatening situations happen in living rooms, kitchens, or bedrooms where the first person who can help is often a partner, parent, child, or friend.
The truth is simple. In an emergency, the first few minutes matter more than anything else. Quick CPR or first aid from someone nearby can make a huge difference while an ambulance is on the way.
That is why learning first aid is not just about work requirements or qualifications. It is about having the confidence to help the people you care about most.
Our courses are designed to make first aid feel approachable and practical. We focus on real situations, clear explanations and plenty of hands on practice so you leave knowing what to do if the worst ever happened.
Because when something happens at home, it is not a stranger who needs help.
It is someone you love.
