When do we decide that a patient doesn’t need treatment?

Every treatment plan we create is based entirely on what is safest, most appropriate, and genuinely beneficial for the individual in front of us. While many people come to us expecting a procedure, there are times when the most responsible clinical decision is to recommend no treatment at all.

This can happen for a number of reasons, including:

✨ Medical considerations: If a procedure could place a patient at unnecessary risk due to their medical history, current health, medications, or skin condition, we will always prioritise wellbeing over aesthetics.

✨ Emotional or psychological factors: Sometimes a treatment may not support a patient’s self-image, mental health, or expectations. In these cases, we take the time to understand their motivations and ensure that any future treatment would be truly beneficial.

✨ Unsuitable or unnecessary treatment requests: If a procedure is unlikely to deliver the results a patient is hoping for, or if we believe it won’t enhance their natural features, we’ll offer honest guidance and alternative options instead.

These decisions are never taken lightly. They rely on clinical judgement, ethical responsibility, and a deep understanding of each patient’s unique needs. It’s one of the many ways our medical team ensures every recommendation is made with care, expertise, and integrity.

More fantastic results with JULÄINE™ of Sweden 🤩

Carla, who was one of the first people in the UK to have this treatment, came to us concerned about the skin in her neck, lower face and jawline. Having grown up in Australia, prolonged time in the sun meant the delicate skin in this area was showing signs of damage.

She was keen to retain a natural look but wanted to look 'good for her age', with no puffiness or signs of 'having work done'.

As a course of treatments with gradual results, JULÄINE™ was the perfect solution. The images of the patient here are taken seven months apart, demonstrating a significant reduction in inflammation, a more defined jawline and much improved skin texture.

The poly-L-lactic (PLLA) injectable acts as a biostimulator to produce collagen for periods lasting up to 24 months. Patients often report an instant improvement in skin texture and appearance, however the collagen stimulating process takes a couple of weeks to properly start, then continues for three to four months after treatment.

Unlike other poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA) products, JULÄINE™ of Sweden works with new LaSynPro microsphere technology, where all microspheres are an even size. Unlike some other treatments, there is no need to massage after treatment and no risk of nodules, so it can be used anywhere on the face, neck, and body - even the eyelids.
