1. Try and get a good night’s sleep. Sleep helps our brains repair and supports healthy brain function. It can also help our mood and help us cope better with day-to-day life stressors.
2. Eating a balanced diet and staying hydrated. Our stomach or gastrointestinal system are very closely connected to our brains what foods we eat can greatly affect our mood, concentration, memory, and energy levels.
3. Exercise regularly. This is a fantastic way to boost natural endorphins and improve brain health and function. It can reduce stress, anxiety and help us sleep better which is a bonus. Physical activity can also play an important role of improving quality of life for those experiencing mental health challenges.
4. Grow a healthy opinion about yourself. We are our biggest critics of ourselves this can significantly affect our self-esteem, mood, and confidence. Raising your self-esteem can be recognising what your talents are or what your good at and being kind to yourself.
5. Learn to say no. Setting healthy boundaries is not selfish, it’s allowing yourself to become more assertive to your time and energy. Benefits of being assertive include, enhancing your sense of self-worth, confidence and managing stress besides many other positive benefits.
