Good evening gorgeous people 🥰

As many of you are aware I have been waiting for an operation date for what seems like forever.
Well..yesterday I got the phone call!

I’m booked in for my diep reconstructive surgery next Thursday 27th July and I literally cannot wait..it’s been a long time coming.

Unfortunately my recovery will be around the 3 month mark..so I’m going to be out of action for some time.

My last working day is Monday 24h July.
I will see how my recovery goes and will update you with some idea of a return date in a couple of months.

I look forward to seeing those of you that have promised to pop round for a cuppa at some point and those I don’t get to catch up with..I will look forward to getting you back in the diary when I’m fit and strong again 💪🏼

In the meantime…take care and I shall see you when I will hopefully be feeling whole again 🤞🏼💞

This is not an easy post to write..but here goes…

I have struggled with whether or not to share this, but decided to as I think there is a huge need for understanding and education around menopause and it’s crippling symptoms.

I’d like to start by thanking you lovely lot for your loyalty..I have been seeing many of you for a few years now and you have come on my health journey with me. Your support and kindness has been unwavering…thankyou 🙏🏼

The least I can do in return is be open with you.

After my breast cancer diagnosis I had to go on hormone treatment which would put me into menopause. It was like my body was stripped of oestrogen literally overnight. I have struggled with the debilitating symptoms of surgical menopause for a couple of years now.
Aching joints, loss of memory, the inability to hold a conversation at times, anxiety, low mood, tears..the list goes on.

On the whole, I have found ways to deal with many of these symptoms but every now and then this huge hormonal black cloud engulfs me and this is where I find myself right now. As a result I feel I have let some of you down this week with last minute cancellations - I hate this and therefore felt I owed you some honesty.

This will pass, it always does, I just haven’t been able to fight this particular episode which has resulted in me letting some of you down last minute. This hasn’t been done without a huge amount of guilt..I can only apologise again.

I hope you are all keeping well and being kind to yourselves. Life certainly throws some curveballs at us from time to time but we don’t have to deal with them alone.

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 🙌🏼💞

I am so happy to be able to share this with you. It is something I have been working on with two other ladies (Cat and Emma) for quite some time.
This week we launched our Community Interest Company (not for profit).

EMPOWERED MENOPAUSE CIC

Lots of work has gone into this and we feel it is very much needed particularly here in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.

We will be running Menopause Cafés, providing seminars to give you all the tools to successfully navigate the menopause transition and provide workplace education and training.

This will be run by three women all with very different menopause stories, all bringing something different to the table and all with a huge passion to make a difference 🙌🏼

Please follow, like and share as much as you can, the more people that know, the more people we can help 🙏🏼

We are hosting our first Menopause Cafe on Tuesday 13th December 2-3pm ☕️🍰

Of course I shall continue with my holistic therapies ..I’d miss you all too much! 💞

I just can’t sit by and see so many ladies struggling as they are xx

It is health based and is something I feel extremely passionate about and has a history of being brushed under the carpet!
