Welcome to mydentist The Ridgeway, a 5-surgery practice in the Plympton area of Plymouth. You can find us opposite Specialist Vehicles with public transport links available in the form of Ridgeway Masonic Hall bus stop just down from the practice covering multiple bus routes in the area. There is no parking available onsite or around the practice however the Ridgeway Car Park is only a 6-minute walk away for those driving. We have a number of Clinicians available with special interests including short-term Orthodontics, Cosmetic Dentistry and Facial Aesthetics. Here at mydentist The Ridgeway we provide both NHS and Private treatments including our myoptions affordable private scheme that allows for flexible appointment times.

What is a Root Canal?

Root canal treatment may be recommended if you've got tooth pain caused by an infected tooth.

The soft part inside a tooth (the pulp) can become infected because of:
tooth decay
gum disease
it being chipped, broken or cracked
a dental abscess (a build-up of pus in the teeth or gums)

If you have an infected tooth and do not have root canal treatment, you may need to have the tooth taken out.
