✈️🌍 Our 2026 world tour has officially begun at Michaelstowe!
In honour of Burns Night, today we travelled to bonnie Scotland 🏴
Our brave travellers sampled haggis (and survived!), enjoyed a traditional feast of tatties and mince, washed down with Irn-Bru and a wee Scotch whisky 🥃
Passports are now stamped and ready for our next adventure in February…
Even our visiting electrician Adam got involved 👀

We had a 'grate' time celebrating National Cheese Lovers Day here at Michaelstowe! Our residents enjoyed tasting a selection of delicious cheeses, perfectly paired with a glass of wine🍷to complement every bite. Lots of smiles, shared memories, and lively conversations made it a truly special evening💛

At Michaelstowe, it’s not just about the cheese…it’s about the moments we create together 🧀✨

Throughout December, Michaelstowe has been collecting a small selection of items as part of the 100 Good Deed Challenge in support of Plympton Food Bank. 🩵
Our wonderful Activities Coordinator Lauren, delivered the donations this morning, and we truly hope they help someone in our community during a time of need 🩵

We are recruiting for a trustworthy Day Carer to join our united team who can provide quality care to our lovely residents.
This is a permanent position plus training opportunities to develop your career.
Expected Hours: 110 per month on a 4 week rota
Salary: £12.60 p/h

As we reflect on the past 12 months at Michaelstowe, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way 💙
From our incredible residents and their families to our dedicated staff, volunteers, neighbours, and community partners. Your kindness, time, and encouragement have meant so much. Together, you’ve helped make Michaelstowe a place filled with care, laughter, and connection.
As we bring 2025 to a close, we begin to look ahead to 2026 with lots of excitement! 🌟 We’re already planning new activities, events, and even more opportunities for community engagement, bringing people together and creating special moments for everyone who calls Michaelstowe home.
As we step into the New Year, we wish everyone a happy, healthy, and safe New Year 🎉✨

At Michaelstowe, we’ve been brushing away the cobwebs, warming up our voices, and continuing to enjoy all of our Christmas activities, with our Christingle celebrations within in the comfort of our own home 🎶🕯️

The fun didn’t stop there, we wrapped up warm and headed out into the community to St Mary’s Church in Plympton, where we enjoyed a wonderful carol service, plenty of smiles and some lovely socialising 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, staff, volunteers, and the welcoming team at St Mary’s Church. These moments of music, laughter and togetherness mean so much to our residents 🎄✨

This December, kindness is at the heart of everything we do at Michaelstowe 🏡✨
As part of our 100 Good Deeds Challenge, our lovely resident Carole and our wonderful Activities Coordinator, Lauren, teamed up with Plympton’s Litter Pickers to help keep our local community clean and cared for 🌍🧤

Despite the cold and wet weather, spirits were high and we were rewarded afterwards with some much-needed tea and cake ☕🍰 A perfect way to warm up and enjoy a well-earned treat!

It was a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors, give back, and show that making a difference has no age limit. A big thank you to Plympton’s Litter Pickers for welcoming us and for all the amazing work you do!
