Jikiden Reiki for Life

Jikiden Reiki for Life Jikiden Reiki - Usui Reiki treatment method for the improvement of body and mind. Welcome to the Fac It use to be the other way around!

I was lucky enough to be introduced and later taught Jikiden Reiki in 2011. Since then I can honestly say that my life, in all aspects, has improved for the better, physically, mentally and spiritually. Jikiden Reiki Background:

Jikiden [in Japanese] simply means ‘directly passed down’, with reiki originating in Japan, Jikiden is as close as we have to the original practice of reiki, that was taught and practised by Usui Sensi (the founder) and Hayashi sensei, his pupil. The teaching of Jikiden Reiki seminars was started in Japan by Chiyoko Yamaguchi and her son Tadao, who still teaches today. Chiyoko was taught by Hayashi Sensei, a pupil of the founder Usui Sensei and so she learnt the way reiki originally was in Japan, which differs somewhat from the western versions we may be familiar with. I was already attuned to Western Reiki, I have never looked back since, as I love the simplicity, intuitive practice and total effectiveness that is Jikiden. For more information on the fascinating origin of Jikiden Reiki, please visit: http://www.jikidenreiki.co.uk

In the meantime, if you would like to experience what Jikiden Reiki can do for you and all aspects of your life, please message me on facebook or telephone, to have a chat or book an appointment. As well as general relaxation, Jikiden Reiki can be used for all areas of your life including some of (but not limited too) the following physical and psychological problems:

Depression
Anxiety
Stress
Fears
Insomnia
Smoking
Addictions
Trauma

For physical issues, general aches & pains, first aid, old injuries and more serious diagnosed illnesses, practitioners use the concept of Byosen (toxins within the body that cause illness, pain, discomfort) that block the natural flow of the body. Byosen is detected by the practitioner’s hands, which tell them the areas with the most build up of toxin, which the reiki then breaks up, so the body can naturally cleanse and heal itself. For some people 1 – 3 treatments is enough to help them recover from a problem, for others a course of treatments maybe needed. About the treatment;

Jikiden reiki is non-invasive and non-manipulative; the client is fully clothed for the treatment and covered by a warm blanket and traditional soft scarves to the head and feet. The practitioner then gently places their hands on the client, usually starting at the head and then searching for Byosen. However if a client has a specific area they want treating, then treatment will be concentrated on this area. All treatments, unless the client prefers other wise, will be finished with the traditional Kekko massage, an invigorating yet highly relaxing end to your treatment, to aid the elimination of toxins from the body. The Gokai:

An integral part of Jikiden Reiki, practitioners regard these principles as their basic philosophy for life, chanted morning and night with Gassho (prayer style) hands. Kyo Dake Wa Just for today
Ikaruna Do not be angry
Shin Pai Suna Do not worry
Kan Sha Sh*te Be grateful
Gyo o Hagame Do your duties
Hito ni Shinsetsu ni Be kind to others

Me:

I originally came to find Jikiden Reiki looking for help for condition of my own, Rosacea, which affects the skin on my face, my eyes and eyesight, making them incredibly painful and red. After unsuccessfully being treated by doctors & specialist consultants who after 4 years of tests and treatments decided the only route was to keep me on antibiotics for the rest of my life, I decided to take matters into my own hands and find another way. I had tried many, many alternative treatments, creams, lotions and potions to try and help manage the symptoms and ease the pain and whilst some helped for a short time, an acute flare up was never far away. After receiving Jikiden Reiki I have never looked back, after one short session I could already start to feel and see the benefits. From this I attended and completed shoden and okuden levels of Jikiden Reiki, enabling me to continue the treatment on myself. The benefits and improvements I have seen have been quite remarkable, whilst I am not 100% cured I have never had an unsightly or painful flare up since and 90% of the time no one would ever no I suffer with rosacea. Most importantly I take no tablets or antibiotics to control the condition and I no longer have to add drops to my eyes everyday, it has given me back my confidence and freedom back. Since discovering the wonders of Jikiden Reiki two years ago, I have practised and embraced it as part of my life, treating myself, family, friends and even my pets; it has been a life altering and truly magical experience. It is now my dream to take the leap of treating more than just family and friends and sharing this amazing healing method with others, so they can benefit as I have.

Starting your day mindfully can have a huge impact all round.

It can be the difference between constantly chasing your tail, feeling flustered and out of control, to feeling calm, grounded and in control no matter what the day brings.

Something as simple as not grabbing your phone straight as soon as you wake up, scrolling, checking emails and getting pulled into everyone else's lives or demands of you, can make a massive difference.

Instead, ease yourself in, create some boundaries and little rituals which set you up for a mindful and conscious start to the day.

If you'd like to learn how or get some more ideas, this is the kind of thing we cover in Quietude ~ my new wellbeing & slow living online subscription ~ your space to disconnect, reconnect, unwind & live life more intentionally.

We are all guilty of this ~ either a little or a lot.

You might not even be conscious of it, or all too aware but no idea how to be any other way.

Filling every gap, or moment in time. Feeling that taking a pause, some space to slow down, is not productive and therefore not a good use of your time.

But the thing I have learnt, from my own personal experience and working with other high achiever types, this couldn't be further from the truth.

When you spend your life in a state of perpetual hurry, on an endless hamster wheel of tasks and things to complete, your life can flash by with little to no sense of achievement to show for all of that activity.

Any spare moment you find yourself with [ironically] I'm betting, is filled with something not as productive as it could be ~scrolling or falling down an internet rabbit hole of things we don't really need to know or care about. Other peoples lives appearing more interesting to view than living our own.

But the truth is, we all need space..we all need the natural gaps that we seem to have lost.

A pause, time to slow down and just be for a moment.

All of this busyness is no good for our brains, nervous systems or stress levels. We feel overwhelmed by life because we fill it to the brim and wonder why we feel like we are drowning at times.

When you create space, make gaps in your day, you allow room for the light to pour in.

You stop looking for all of the answers to every aspect of your life outside of you and give your inner knowing room to reveal itself to you.

You regain a sense of calm and confidence, in yourself and the ebb and flow of life and its seasons.

You will know that you're on the right path for you, as you leave space for it to reveal itself to you, not just following someone else's advice or way of doing things.

You will feel grounded and more peaceful than you have done in years.

For any of you who struggle with slowing down and simplifying your life and business, I have something very exciting for you being launched later today.

Keep your eye out ~ Quietude is coming.

The importance of space...

I am not adverse to learning from others and seeking guidance, I am a guide myself.

But giving yourself space to allow all of the information you are seeking, the time it needs to:

🌸 percolate through your life filters
🌸 to feel how it sits with your life/business vision and values
🌸 to sense what works for you and what does not
🌸 to know if that is the route you want to take

Is such an important part in all of the information gathering we do.

You need to give yourself time and space to allow and honour your own wisdom to come through. So you can know what is right for you and what advice to leave behind.

Alongside the answers we are searching for from others, we are bombarded by so many messages every single day. Every time you log onto your email, or a social media profile ~ if it's not somebody else's opinion, there's an advert, a view point, a way of doing/being/living ~ thrust upon us.

You might not be aware that this constant barrage of information is having a negative effect, but your subconscious mind is sucking it all up like a big sponge. Until you are so oversaturated, you don't even know what thoughts and desires belong to you anymore. You find yourself striving for something that perhaps isn't really what your soul truly craves, but what the 'media' said you need to have in order to feel whole/healed/worthy/abundant.

And this is why space is so important.

It allows you time to decompress, to connect to your authentic self and desires, to truly know yourself.

When you create that space, by slowing things down, you allow room for your authentic self to come through, to make sure you are not climbing the wrong mountain, following someone else's path, but instead you are happily ambling along your own, whilst enjoying the view and the journey along the way.

My 7 week mindfulness course starts later this month, when we will be looking at how to slow down (in order to speed up) and how to incorporate more mindfulness into you every day life and the benefits you will reap from doing so. More info here: https://bit.ly/3vPoSAN

An opportunity to experience how coaching can transform you...

My work is multi-disciplined and dimensional, whilst you can book coaching, mindfulness or reiki sessions separately, there is much power, healing and transformation in the 3 combined.

I am a Certified Mindfulness & Life coach, the two modalities combined creates change on a much deeper level than more traditional, purely logic and goal orientated methods.

Whilst it builds upon traditional models of life coaching, it draws upon a wide range of other modalities to cultivate harmony between mind, body and soul. The magic is in the wholeness created by connecting the 3.

I also [with consent] send all of my clients reiki healing energy to support your individual needs and journey, as we work together, which aids the process further.

During our time together we can can dip in and out or combine modalities, we will naturally be guided to what is best for you.

Whatever path you choose trust you will get exactly the support that you need.

I am extremely passionate about the incredible impact each one of these modalities can have on an individuals life, I have experienced it myself first hand, which inevitably set of the chain of events which lead me to where I am today, a coach & healer.

We live in turbulent and uncertain times, so having a calm nervous system and inner landscape has never been more important.

If you are curious, intrigued, in need of some calm, a grounded space just to be and explore some of what is going on for you right now, I would love to help you.

I also understand that coaching, especially if you have not tried it before or have had a bad experience, can feel daunting or intangible. That is why I invite you to make a decision based on how it makes you feel, having experienced it for yourself. I offer a free complimentary session, from which you can decide if you would like to work together again or not, whatever you perfect.

And regardless of whether we book more time together or not, I know you will get something that you need from this free session.

if you are interested you can read more about the work and book a free call here: https://katiecarswell.com/work-with-me/

How slowing down can help you grow your business & improve your life ~ The benefits of stepping outside & appreciating the season

a gentle reminder for today, or this weekend, to make sure you take 5 minutes (or more) and step outside.

Get out from behind your desk.

Leave the never ending to do list behind for a moment.

And take yourself off for a walk.

Go outside in nature.

Notice what you can see, hear and smell.

Let it all soak in.

Leave your phone at home and just allow yourself to be.

Don't listen to a podcast.

Try not to think of your list of tasks.

Just let your mind absorb its surroundings.

Give yourself some space to breathe.

We have all been conditioned to think that busy is best.

It's our natural go to response, when we are asked how things are.."I'm good, busy..."

But the fact is we are too over saturated and too over stretched.

And that is not good ~ on so many levels.

Whilst we feel that we don't have time to take time out, the reality is filling every moment, being productive all of the time, is actually working against us.

There are countless studies which show the adverse effects of multi-tasking, it can have the same effect on your brain as being under the influence of ma*****na or alcohol, slowing your reaction times and cognitive ability.

Looking at your phone in between and during every other activity you are doing counts as multi-tasking too.

We are so distracted by all of the things, we find ourselves pulled from one task to another without realising. Not deeply focusing on what we are doing or who we are with. And often forgetting what we were up to half way through.

If you really stop to think about this, you know this is not good.

The great news is that something as simple as stepping outside for 30 minutes each day, can improve your productivity by 45% ~ That is massive!

Even more importantly, being in nature can improve your memory and concentration, make you feel happier and more connected to the world you live in, relieves stress, helps weight loss, improves Vitamin D absorption, boosts your immune system, improves your mood and makes you feel more relaxed, just to name a few.

Getting outside and taking some time for you, should not be seen as a luxury.

It improves your quality of life, which in turns ripples out across all other aspects of your life ~ personal, family, relationships, work, business.

I have been the person who refused to leave her desk for 12+ hours a day and never go outside.

I am now the person who makes sure I get outside, EVERY.SINGLE.DAY..rain or shine and I can hand on heart say, my life is infinitely more abundant in every sense, since I became the latter.

It is why I feel so passionate about incorporating mindfulness and you time into your everyday life because the benefits are huge.

If you are not making time to look after yourself, to take time out for you ~ you need to ask yourself why?

Are their self worth issues and not enoughness stopping you?

Do you need to set better boundaries in areas of your life?

Do you need some help with accountability?

I promise, addressing these will change your life, as will getting outside and taking some time for you every day.

Much love
Katie ♡

A simple tool to help you uncover your unmet needs and identify the simple shifts to create massive impact.

Abraham Maslow was a psychologist and he developed a theory called the hierarchy of needs, back in 1943.

This pyramid (although I should add, later theories have discussed this being more of an overlap of needs than a pyramid) but the premise is still very relevant, today as it's ever been.

Each tier represents the things that we as humans (and most animals till you reach the top) need.

Starting from the bottom and working up, you will see the balance of what we need in our lives in order to feel whole.

We need to eat, drink, sleep, move, to breathe.
We need to feel safe.
We need to feel connected to others.
We need to feel respect, recognised, a sense of self esteem and free.

Lastly, when all of those other fundamental needs are met

We desire to feel that we are being the best that we can possibly be.

Now the reason this little pyramid is so useful, is it gives you an easy guide to see where you might be out of balance in your own life ~ and balance is key to feeling whole.

If you are not feeling balanced or whole at the moment ~ in integrity with your true authentic self, then this is a great place to start some gentle self enquiry.

Try this mini exercise to see where your needs are not being met and create the simple shifts to change that:

26/04/2022

I'm not anti hard work and I am definitely not anti money. We live in an abundant Universe and I think we should all have exactly what we want and need.

The key is, to make sure it is what YOU want and need.

Not what you think you should want, or what you think will make you feel more happy, fulfilled, free or abundant by having it.

Because the truth is, whilst you can get very rich working like the industrialist, you can also miss the joy of the journey on the way 'there'.

You can miss the moments that make life magical, the things we often take for granted but in essence, are the things that make this life worth living, today.

No judgement but how many of us have hustled our kids into bed so you can get more hours on your laptop?

Put work over spending time with loved ones?

Working when you are ill or exhausted, because you have to?

Is that success? Is that happiness? Is that living to your highest potential?

And believe me I get this. I was this person and I honestly thought I had no choice, that it was my duty to make my daughters life better, and that meant I had to push and hustle harder. I wanted to create a life for her that I didn't have myself growing up. And in order to do that I need to work, like a dog. But the truth is, that was making anyone happy and meant I was missing out on a huge chunk of the thing I value the most ~ time with my family.

I know there are times when we need to put in the extra effort but it's making sure that overall there is balance in your life, because if not, at some point, something will give.

Nothing good comes from pushing harder, you might get more, like the industrialist, but at what cost? What are you willing to sacrifice from your life in order to get that perceived pot of gold at the end of it all? And is the end destination really somewhere you want to be?

This isn't and either/or option here.

The truth is, you can be the fisherman and have an abundant life, you're just channeling your priorities and your energy differently. You are looking at life through a different lens. Not one that was probably honed as a trauma response to something you experienced earlier on in your life.

You're crafting and creating a life on your terms and you can have it all, I promise.

But you do need to become conscious in order to do so. No more blindly pushing forwards, this is about doing things because they are right for you, true to you..then the Universe will reward you in ways not even the Industrialist can imagine ~ you get the best of both worlds.

Much love

06/04/2022

We live in a fast paced, over saturated world, where goal setting and achieving are held in high esteem.

When you are not working towards bettering yourself in any aspect of your life, or being a good parent, partner, friend, daughter/son, employee, business owner..many of us are numbing out through food, social media, tv, alcohol, over working.

Even some incredibly healthy habits like exercising can be a form of escape from being fully present with yourself, if done to the extreme.

Jumping from goal to goal, climbing from one mountain to the next, never stopping to appreciate the view or to wonder why you actually want to reach that particular summit. It’s no wonder you become burnt out, overwhelmed and frazzled by life, as well as wondering what your actual purpose is.

Becoming more present through mindfulness can really help with this.

If this resonates I offer mindfulness sessions and combine it with life coaching too: https://katiecarswell.com/mindfulness-reiki/
