Hi, I'm Michelle, I have lived within the Pocklington area with my family for over 20 years.
I love animals and have had a menagerie of pets over the years, dogs, cats, hamsters and even chickens! I enjoy walking in the countryside we have on our doorstep and going to visit the sea and sailing when I get time. When I’m not working, I like to spend time at home with my family and friends. I have a lot of experience working in customer services, but I also have a passion for helping people find their best path forward when they’re faced with challenges. This is why I joined Home Instead as we as a company believe in finding solutions for our clients and try to help improve their lives.

Today, we recognise how Braille helps people who are blind or have very low vision stay informed, confident, and independent. In the UK, almost 2 million people live with sight loss, and around 360,000 are registered as blind or partially sighted, yet only about 12,000 people read Braille.

Many people believe learning Braille later in life will be too difficult, but with the right support it can still open new possibilities. It can help with everyday tasks, reading, and simple labelling around the home, helping life feel easier and more in control.

Hi, I'm Kerry I've been a Care Professional for Home Instead since 2023. It was a steep learning curve as I hadn't known of anyone with dementia before. I feel very lucky to be working with such lovely clients and getting to know them. I used to be a childminder before this job, so I've gone from newborns, toddler tantrums and cute kids to caring for amazing elderly clients.
My hobbies include gardening, the arts and singing. I'm just in one choir currently but I was in four choirs a couple of years ago.
