We’re so happy to announce the result of our recent Support Stroke Sale! Wow – we donated £19,283 to the Stroke Association! Thank you to everyone who made a purchase during the sale – we gave 10% of the value to the charity during the event.

All making a very nice contribution indeed to the £140,000 Posturite has raised for our charity partner the Stroke Association!

It’s incredibly motivating to hear from our Partnerships Manager Julia Simpson the impact that £19,283 could have. For example, it could fund a Stroke Support Co-ordinator to deliver tailored advice and support to stroke survivors for an entire six months!

“Just be your-elf!” 🎅 It was a Christmas delight for the Posturite team to assist Mother Christmas at the Upcountry Stone Cross Garden Centre near Eastbourne in aid of the Stroke Association on Saturday.

Debbie, Louise and Kate welcomed children into a fantastic Santa’s grotto, and we’re thrilled that customers gave generously to support stroke survivors. Thank you for having us UpCountry!

What a privilege for us to meet the stroke researchers working hard at UCL Institute for Global Health! Posturite MD Chris Jones was invited by our charity partner the Stroke Association to see where the money we’re raising for stroke survivors is being spent.

Is stroke research really underfunded? Professor Fenella Kirkham told us that stroke research receives relatively little funding sadly, yet there are 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK. So Posturite is on a mission to help.

Big thanks to neurology team members Shifa Hamdule and Professor Kirkham for giving us this special insight into your work. Along with Chris, Martin Green and Kate Wright from Posturite loved this opportunity to meet you.

Unfortunately, you can have a stroke at any age. Shifa Hamdule is undertaking Stroke Association-funded research with people aged 18-40 who have had a stroke.

Standing desks: are they worth it? We were all ears to hear the verdict from two leading health experts on the new Standing Desks episode of BBC Radio 4’s ‘Sliced Bread’. The panel was: Professor Stacy Clemes, Professor of Active Living and Public Health, Loughborough University.

This is your Captain speaking: What’s your ultimate football song? Ryan Luff will be our Posturite Captain at the UK Corporate Games ⚽️ on 26 July in Leeds, and he asked members of his Soccer 7s team for their top anthem choices:

Jack Guppy
Song: Freed from Desire
I feel like this is the base to many great football chants, but the best version of the song starts with ‘Bowen’s on fire’ and I won't mention the next line! Watching West Ham win the conference league was an incredible experience and this chant ringing around the stadium ever since always reminds me of that.
Honourable mention to ‘I’m forever blowing bubbles’ of course.

Lewis Clarke
Song: Waka Waka
Why: It’s the song from the first World Cup I properly watched and it always reminds me of the first goal of the tournament, the thunderbolt from Tshabalala against Mexico!

Joe Russell
Song: Blue is the Colour
Why: Being a Chelsea fan, this will always be the first song that you learn when growing up. I have great memories of singing it for the first time live at Stamford Bridge all those years ago!

And Ryan’s own choice?
Song: Meat Pie, Sausage Roll – Grandad Roberts
This is the first England song that I can remember and has stuck firmly in the memory, I remember singing it non-stop as a child!
