Another great couple of days delivering NCFE Unit 10 Conflict Management at Bishop Auckland College 🎓

Over the last two days, learners have developed a solid understanding of conflict management within uniformed public services, focusing on:

✅ Understanding the causes of conflict
✅ Communication models and conflict resolution strategies
✅ Practical de-escalation techniques
✅ Applying the National Decision-Making Model in challenging situations
✅ Simple Breakaways techniques and simple strikes.

The engagement and professionalism shown throughout the course has been excellent, with learners getting fully involved in discussions and scenario-based activities.

Proud to continue delivering accredited qualifications through NCFE that equip students with the knowledge and confidence they’ll need in their future careers.

Great to be back at Kirklees College delivering two half-day “Insight into Public Services” training courses.

Across both sessions, learners gained practical insight into key operational areas, including:

Today I delivered a Bespoke Customer Management Course, covering:
● Ask for Angela – keeping staff and customers safe
● Warning and danger signs of aggression/violence
● Security protocols
● Drugs awareness
● Dealing with unhappy customers and complaints

It was fantastic to work with such an engaged group, equipping them with practical skills to manage challenging situations and enhance customer service.

🚓 Insight into Public Services Training | Wakefield College 🎓

Great to be back at Wakefield College delivering our Insight into Public Services training course to a highly engaged group of learners.

The session provided a realistic look into frontline public service roles, with a strong focus on:
✅ Decision-making processes under pressure
🔗 Handcuffing techniques – legal, safe and proportionate use
⚖️ Use of Force – understanding necessity, proportionality and accountability

Learners explored how professional judgement, legislation and ethical standards underpin every action taken within public services, helping them build confidence and real-world understanding as they progress towards future careers.

Delivered a Physical Intervention Training course in Liverpool today with a great group of learners focused on safety, professionalism, and appropriate responses. 👏

Physical intervention is sometimes necessary when there is a risk of harm to yourself, the individual, or others.
Our training looks at decision making, legal considerations, last-resort principles, de-escalation first, and safe techniques to reduce risk and protect everyone involved.

➡️ Situations where physical intervention may be needed can include:
• Preventing injury or harm
• Protecting property from serious damage
• Managing situations where de-escalation alone has not worked
• Supporting duty of care responsibilities in the workplace

The session covered practical intervention skills alongside ligature risks, environmental awareness, and decision-making under pressure, all grounded in current guidance and best practice.

Quality Standards: Primary dental care equipment list – in accordance with the Resuscitation council UK (Nov 2013 – last updated May 2020

“All clinical dental areas should have immediate access (within the first minutes of a cardiorespiratory arrest) to oxygen, resuscitation equipment for airway management including suction and an AED.”

Being prepared for a medical emergency isn’t optional — it’s a professional responsibility. The GDC expects every dental practice to have the correct emergency drugs and equipment readily available, maintained, and staff trained to use them confidently.

📋 Hers is a checklist outlining what should be available in your practice to remain compliant with current guidance.

✔️ Are your emergency drugs in date?

✔️ Is your oxygen and AED accessible and checked?

✔️ Do all team members know their role in an emergency?

Great to be in Altrincham delivering an Emergency First Aid at Work training course.

A fantastic group of learners who were fully engaged and committed to developing the skills and confidence needed to respond effectively in an emergency.

The course covered essential life-saving skills including CPR, use of a defibrillator (AED), managing casualties, and responding to common workplace emergencies.
