We can hardly believe it, our doors have been open for a whole year! 1️⃣✨🪴

What began as late nights and weekends spent building a vision alongside our full-time jobs has grown into a space where everyone who steps inside feels welcomed, heard, valued, and empowered to explore their own path, free from judgement.

This first year has brought countless "firsts", valuable lessons, meaningful growth, and milestones we'll never forget. None of it would have been possible without our wonderful clients, past, present, and future, whose trust and support mean so much to us.

We're also deeply grateful to our family and friends, who have cheered us on and encouraged us every step of the way.

As we look ahead, we're excited for what the next year in private practice will bring. Our commitment remains the same: to continue growing, developing, and providing the best possible care and support to everyone who walks through our doors.

✨ Celebrating our 1st birthday soon, is a very monumental mile stone for Mind Matters Counselling uk, and a great opportunity to introduce the people behind the name.

👋Hi, I'm Jodie, Counsellor and Partner here at Mind Matters.

I started my journey towards becoming a counsellor back in 2010 and graduated in 2013. I have also worked in business and operational management for 21 years, where i have used my coaching and counselling skills to excel my career.

I was motivated to take a path in counselling, due to being exposed and impacted by mental health issues from my parents and friends at a very young age, with a lack of understanding and not knowing where the support was, fear, frustration and isolation was a daily battle.

I wanted to understand more, and the more i learnt the more i was inspired and eventually took the brave step to have counselling myself.

My experience helped me to manage my feelings and understand me and my situation. Seeing a therapist had such a empowering impact on my life, and i wanted to spread what i had experienced with others. I wanted to support as many people as i could to reduce suffering in silence like i did.

I know how hard it can be to reach out, thinking you should be able to cope or not know where to turn for help. I appreciate how important it is to get the help in that moment when you take the brave step and reach out, because waiting should never have to be an option when your struggling with your mental health.

✨ As we get ready to celebrate our 1st birthday, we wanted to take a moment to share a bit more about the people behind Mind Matters Counselling, starting with me, the face behind our social media!

👋Hi, I'm Amy, Counsellor and Partner here at Mind Matters.

I started my journey towards becoming a counsellor back in 2020 and graduated in 2024. What inspired me to take this path was my own experience with mental health. Seeing a therapist had such a positive impact on my life, and it made me realise how powerful it can be to have someone there to listen and support you. I wanted to be that person for others, someone who helps make a difference when things feel tough.

I know what it's like to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like you've lost a sense of who you are. And while it might sound a bit cliché, I truly believe there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. With the right support and a bit, or a lot of patience and self-kindness, things can get better.
