Today we celebrate the incredible women who inspire us every single day – our wonderful residents, our dedicated staff, and the amazing mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, and friends who have shaped our lives and communities.

Many of the women in our home have lived through remarkable moments in history, shown extraordinary strength, and shared wisdom that continues to inspire generations. We are proud to honour their stories, achievements, and the kindness they bring to Warde Aldam every day.

To all the women who make our home such a special place – today we celebrate you. 💜

Today we say a very fond farewell to our wonderful cook, Pam, after an incredible 11 years of dedicated service.

Pam has been at the heart of our home, not only preparing delicious meals each day but bringing comfort, kindness and a friendly smile to residents, families and staff alike. From special birthday cakes to favourite home-cooked meals, Pam has helped create so many happy memories around the dining table.

Her hard work, commitment and caring nature will be truly missed by us all. Thank you, Pam, for everything you have done over the past 11 years — you have made such a difference to everyone here.

We wish you all the very best for the future and hope you enjoy a well-deserved rest (and that someone else does the cooking for a change!)

The Giving Tree has arrived at Warde Aldam — and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. ❤️🎄

The Giving Tree is our new festive tradition, created to bring a little extra warmth to residents who may not have someone close to exchange gifts with at Christmas. Each tag on the tree represents one of these residents and includes a few of their personal likes and interests to help inspire a small, thoughtful gift chosen just for them.

If you’d like to be part of it, simply stop by the entrance, choose a tag, and return your gift unwrapped by 22nd December. We’ll wrap everything here and make sure it’s ready to bring smiles on Christmas Day.

There is no obligation to take part — this is simply a lovely opportunity for anyone who wants to share a little kindness and help make the season brighter for our residents. Sometimes the smallest acts really do mean the most. ✨
