Singing & Dancing: A memorable visit from Paul Barrie 🎙️

There wasn’t a quiet voice in the house last week at Aegis Residential Care Home! We had the absolute pleasure of hosting the incredibly talented Paul Barrie for an afternoon of music, memories, and movement.

From heartfelt sing-alongs to impromptu dances with our wonderful staff, the room was filled with smiles and song. It’s amazing how the 'tunes we all know and love' can turn an ordinary afternoon into a party!

A huge thank you to Paul for the entertainment and to our residents for showing us how to truly find the rhythm.

A Fluffy Surprise at Aegis Residential Care Home

We had some very special (and very furry) visitors last week! Our residents were over the moon to welcome Luke and King Kong, two charming alpacas from AlTreka.

The boys took a full tour of the home, visiting residents in our lounge and bedrooms. Seeing the smiles and laughter they brought to everyone was truly magic.

Easter Smiles at Sherrington House! 🐣

Even though the big day was a week ago, we couldn’t resist sharing these wonderful memories from Easter Sunday. Our residents and staff had a fantastic time diving into Easter-themed activities—and as you can see from the photos, the joy was contagious! We had just as much fun hosting these events as our clients had participating in them.

Shetland Pony Therapy at Aegis! 🐴✨

We had two very special visitors at Aegis Residential Care Home yesterday afternoon! We welcomed two delightful Shetland Ponies, William and Snowy from Simply Shetlands into our lounge and bedrooms, and it’s safe to say they stole everyone’s hearts.

From gentle nuzzles to quiet companionship, the therapeutic benefits of animal visits are incredible. Seeing the pure joy on our residents' faces reminds us why we love bringing these unique experiences into our home. These calm, well-trained ponies do more than just visit—they help reduce anxiety, boost moods, and even help our residents with dementia tap into wonderful past memories.
