Career paths aren’t always straight lines, and that’s okay.
I graduated in 2017 with a degree in Sports Coaching, full of ambition but unsure what direction to take next.
In 2018, I travelled to Australia for seven months — an incredible life experience — but when I returned, I found myself falling in and out of love with the work I was doing. Something didn’t quite fit. It didn’t align with my lifestyle, my passion for sport, or my drive to help others develop.
Being out injured and away from the football pitch as a player — following an ACL injury in April 2024 — gave me time to reflect and reassess what I really wanted from my career. During that period, I decided to learn a new skill and retrained as a Sports Massage Therapist — not as a sudden pivot, but as a natural extension of wanting to support people, performance, and recovery.
Alongside this, I’ve continued coaching both cricket and football, which remains a huge part of who I am and what I enjoy most.
Am I the finished article?
Not at all.
I’m keen to keep improving, learning new skills, and exploring further education and opportunities. If you’re in sport, performance, wellbeing, or development — or simply on a similar journey — I’d love to connect, share ideas, and see what opportunities are out there.
If you’re feeling unsure or stuck right now, don’t worry. Careers evolve, paths change, and everything happens for a reason.
