As part of the preparations for Learning Disability week in June, nominations for the Marie Gibb Award are open!

This special award is dedicated to the memory of learning disability nurse Marie Gibb. Marie worked across the Wakefield District for many years in both community and hospital settings. She was dedicated to and passionate about raising awareness and improving the lives of people with a learning disability.

In her honour, this award celebrates people who create meaningful, positive change for people with a learning disability. You can nominate:

- an individual
- a group or team
- a worker or professional
- a person with a learning disability

If you know someone who goes above and beyond, supports others, or helps make our community a better place, we would love to hear from you.

You can submit your nomination using the link in the comments. Nominations close on Friday 24 April.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the amazing people across the Wakefield district who make a real difference every day.
