Apologies for being absent for quite some time. As some of you may remember, my partner Wayne suffered a brain injury while we were waiting for BCP council to house us. Unfortunately due to getting an infection and his poor treatment while in hospital, Wayne Martinez lost his battle on January 31st this year. As you can imagine, it has felt like the bottom of my world fell out. However, Wayne wouldn't want me to let this get the better of me, although it's still tough I will be carrying on with what I started and I'll be doing it in his name. Wayne...you were, and still are the love of my life and you made me the man I am today...I love you! ❤️💔

A bit of a belated rant...once again the government have failed to recognise the work that unpaid carers do, and the money they save the government. In their autumn budget statement they have put in place 'rewards for hard workers' in the form of various reduced taxes NI etc, so where are our rewards?! We weren't even recognised during the cost of living payments when more than half of unpaid carers are living below the poverty threshold, and still the government have chosen to ignore us! THIS HAS GOT TO CHANGE, WE EXIST, STOP IGNORING US AND HELP US OUT!

I'd like to give everyone an update about my partner Wayne, the whole reason this page came to be. He's been very unwell recently and this has caused some backwards momentum on his recovery due to various infections and a few hospital admissions. He was admitted to hospital again last night as a precaution due to low blood pressure but will hopefully be back at his rehab in a few days.
