We recently had a great afternoon learning a new game, Sequence — a fantastic recommendation from resident Tessa’s brother!

Competition quickly heated up as everyone got into the spirit of the game!

In the end, it was a close contest, with both Mary and Tessa tying for the top spot. After some light-hearted rivalry, the two shared a good laugh — and, of course, remained good friends by the end of the game.

We were delighted to host a Volunteers Celebration for the Fundraising Team at Forest Holme Hospice Charity at Bourne View on Wednesday 🌿💛

The event celebrated the most amazing people who go above and beyond, day in and day out, to support the Hospice and its vital fundraising efforts.

We were honoured to welcome Jeff Mostyn, who gave an inspirational talk that perfectly captured just why volunteers are such an incredible asset to the hospice team.

A huge thank you to our wonderful Hospitality team who, led by Lorna Parsons, delivered an exceptional afternoon tea, and to Claire Manners for her beautiful saxophone performance that set the perfect tone for the afternoon.

It was truly a privilege to host this event and to continue supporting Forest Holme Hospice and their incredible team once again.

Thanks to Philip Hartley, Colten Care's amazing photographer, for capturing the event perfectly.

In celebration of National Poetry Day, we were delighted to welcome students from a local school to share poetry with our residents 🌟

To make the occasion even more special, our residents selected some of their favourite poems for the children to read aloud. It was a truly heart-warming and enriching experience for everyone involved. After the readings, the children joined our residents for conversation.

We are delighted the children will be returning just before Christmas to share poetry they have written themselves.

On a bright and brisk afternoon, our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to the much-loved New Forest, stopping at Moyles Court where we were lucky enough to spot two playful donkeys.

Just as we were preparing to head home, we had the most unexpected (and very welcome!) surprise — a curious pony wandered over to say hello. To everyone’s amusement, she even poked her head through the driver’s window to greet us!

We were delighted to welcome Clare from Curiosity Case recently, who arrived with suitcases and bags overflowing with fascinating treasures from the past.

This session’s theme — fashion through the decades, from the 1920s to the 1970s — sparked fond memories for many of our residents.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable and engaging afternoon, and our residents are already excited to discover what theme Clare will bring next!

After an afternoon of tai-chi and singing, it was heart-warming to see Janet invite Jean and Joyce to join her for a little people watching by the picture window.

The three of them sat together chatting about their day and sharing how much they had enjoyed the afternoon.

Our Monday minibus outings are always a hit, and this week was no exception!

We began our trip with a stop at Ham Common, where everyone took in the beautiful views. Mary and Barry even hopped off the bus to enjoy the scenery and some fresh air.

Next, we headed to Poole Park for the much-anticipated ice cream stop!

We had a wonderful time out and about on the minibus recently, enjoying both morning and afternoon adventures to different local spots.

In the morning, we visited the scenic Sandbanks Ferry. Wendy and John chose to step off the bus and settle onto a bench, binoculars in hand, to take in the view. They were treated to the sight of numerous boats gliding by.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Chris and Mary enjoyed a gentle stroll through Poole Park.

It was a truly delightful day, filled with fresh air, nature, and good company — a wholesome outing enjoyed by all!

We began the day with a lively Music and Movement session, joined by Abner from Canford Chase 🎶

Residents sang along to favourites like Hey Jude, Daisy, Daisy, and You Are My Sunshine — a wonderful way to lift spirits before lunch. Abner also treated us to a calming rendition of Canon, which created a peaceful moment of quiet reflection.
