To clarify my reasoning behind “holding” on the build element of RB Project Q because of Debbie’s diagnosis of secondary breast cancer. Please have a look at the financial picture below. Risk v Reward…

Current we own the Freehold at 158-160 Stanley Green Road, we have planning permission and are ready to go ….but.

No build money and just me driving. Single point of failure…Me. Risk… huge!

Why? We don’t have the support needed from the community. Those that know, do support! (Thank you 🇬🇧🫡) ….but….No charities engaging, no groups outside of our area engaging …Considering what we are trying to achieve and that’s disappointing…Although NOT surprising.

Why help us when you can support charities paying big salaries to CEOs staff and holding big reserves…? All of which is your money given to support veterans…Plenty of moaning about the way things are done for , but that’s not changing anything. No point pushing water uphill!

However, Rob's Filling Station our located on the site is owned, functioning and viable with Uncle Mark able to step in and take the lead. This business can, does and will continue to support veterans via ……..
The Stronghold ….Which is located on my site. So this element has a “home” although modest. Supports the community… Check out the FB page for example our boat project TANGO 7. Derek has my back on that. The support with Benefits etc, Linda has my back on that. Mental Heath for any issues Andy has my back on that….

This project is guaranteed safe. No single point of failure….That’s the clarification.

A cheer us up meal …. and a heads up for you lovely lot…. Because we know you care.

Yesterday was hard…. a “chat” with the oncology consultant, discussing our operation and treatment options…
Today, Debs had a CT Scan so now it’s another waiting game to see where we are at ……is the cancer localised or has it spread…?

We’re both feeling “battered” … but.. We are going to keep “things” as normal as possible for as long as possible ….RFS will continue as normal, The Stronghold will continue as normal…

I’m taking my foot off the gas on driving the building the 3rd Element RB Project Q … two outta three ain’t bad…. I would like to have been further down the line so I could pass the baton but 🤷‍♂️…

What happens next? …time will tell.

📣 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED — ARMY v NAVY, SATURDAY 2ND MAY

Pilgrim Bandits will be at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham for the Army v Navy match and we need 5 more volunteers to help man our fundraising stand on the day.

Here’s what’s involved:

Arrive at Twickenham by 8.30am to help set up. Stay on the stand throughout the match. Help clear down after the final whistle.

We can’t offer match tickets, but we can promise great company, a brilliant atmosphere, and beer may well make an appearance.

You’ll need to commit by Sunday 20th April so we can get your credentials registered with the RFU.

Already got your ticket for the game? Fancy lending a hand before kick-off? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We recently received a message from Lucy, whose husband James was permanently injured while serving his country.

Lucy is fighting a system that penalises injured veterans for receiving the compensation they were awarded. Right now, Armed Forces Compensation Scheme payments are only disregarded from Universal Credit calculations for 12 months, unlike other national disaster compensation schemes which are fully protected. Families are being forced to spend money meant to cover long-term injury and loss of independence just to survive.

Lucy has started a petition calling for this to change. It needs 10,000 signatures to trigger a government response, and right now it’s just over 9000.

Saturday 28th March 2026 George is taking on a 25 MILE walk in support of the RB Project Q fundraising Spinal Op Campaign for Gillian.

The route:

Start Point - Hengisbury following the coast to the chain ferry. Handrail the harbour via Lillyput, Poole Park to Poole Bridge. Passing Sunseeker International, The Docks to Hamworthy park and on to Lake Pier, Blue Pool. Then down through Turlin Moor to the Rail Way Bridges Blandford Road. On to Upton Country House around Holes Bay to the ….

WHY?

I am doing this as Gills husband Kevin was a member of the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment which I had the pleasure to serve in myself.
We served at the same time.
Kevin unfortunately has glaucoma and Gill has to drive him every where…..There will come a time where she will be unable to do this and that will impact on their life.

So….. I thought that as RB Project Q - The Stronghold had started this fundraising. WE as a Breakfast Club should get on board and try and raise some of the funds.

The ORSI Academy in Melle Belgium … Expanding their facility…

If you look back …. Way back….To 2017 …..You’ll see I’ve talked about trying to develop a similar model to ORSI…. Difficult without support.

The reality is this is not a race …. We need lots of these facilities to train for the future! We just need to get in the game…

RB Project Q to support…

⚽️ Weekly Update – Poole Town Wessex U15s ⚽️

After several weekends of hard work, determination and big performances, the boys have achieved something really special.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Poole Town Wessex U15s have now reached the Finals of:

🏆 Dorset County Cup
🏆 Hampshire County Cup
🏆 Bournemouth League Cup

A fantastic achievement and a real reflection of the commitment, teamwork and attitude shown by every player throughout the season.

Massive credit to the whole squad for the effort they continue to put in week after week, and to Alan and Chris for their dedication and leadership.

Now the focus turns to the finals. Big occasions ahead and the boys have fully earned their place there.
