Leading the session is none other than Sarah Robertson 🙌 — Olympic bronze medallist 🥉 from Tokyo 2020, over 100 caps for Scotland 💪, and one of the country’s most successful players! After an incredible international career with Great Britain, Sarah recently announced her retirement 🇬🇧 but is still making history—captaining Scotland on March 14th 2026 to qualify for the FIH Hockey World Cup for the first time in 24 years! 🔥🏆

⭐New development given green light by council!⭐

We are pleased to announce that, the proposed fitness studio development at 2 Riversmeet Leisure Complex in Christchurch has been approved by the council, in the most recent round of meetings!

This is a major step forward for the project, and shows the true potential of the plans and how it could positively impact the local community.

2 Riversmeet hosts a variety of different sporting and wellbeing activities, which all currently share the same space. With these future plans, the hope is to be able to provide a greater service, by creating more dedicated space for its activities and classes. This will then ensure the centre remains accessible to the community for future generations.

We are hopeful that the development will meet planning approval, and we will keep you posted on future progress.

🚧 DAY 2: TRACK REFURBISHMENT CONTINUES! 🚧

Great progress is being made on Day 2 of our athletics track refurbishment at Ashdown Leisure Centre! 🏃‍♂️

The team has been hard at work building on yesterday’s preparations, with more key improvements taking shape across the track.

🔧 Today’s progress includes:
• Continued surface repairs across high-wear areas
• Preparation and treatment of key sections of the track
• Further developments to the long jump area

Each step is bringing us closer to a refreshed, safer, and higher-performing track for everyone to enjoy.

🚫 Reminder: The track remains closed until Sunday 29th March while works are completed.

Work has officially begun today on our athletics track refurbishment at Ashdown Leisure Centre! 🏃‍♂️

Over the next few days, we’ll be carrying out essential improvements to ensure the track remains safe, high-quality, and ready for athletes, schools, clubs, and our community to enjoy.

🔧 Today’s progress includes:
• Specialist cleaning to prepare the surface
• Initial repairs to worn areas
• Long jump area improvements underway

These upgrades will help extend the lifespan of the track and enhance performance for all users.

These improvements will help keep the track in great condition for training, school use, club sessions, and community activities — ensuring a safer and better surface for everyone.
