🎀 Wear It Pink Day at Marjorie House! 🎀

Last Friday, our residents and staff came together to celebrate Wear It Pink Day in support of breast cancer awareness. The morning was filled with laughter, pink decorations, glitter, and plenty of fabulous pink outfits! 💕

Everyone enjoyed a delicious pink cake, and our lively true-or-false quiz helped spread important awareness about breast cancer. It was a wonderful day that brought everyone together for a fun and meaningful cause. 💖

Diwali Arts Afternoon at the Captains Club

On Monday, residents gathered at the Captains Club to celebrate Diwali with a joyful arts afternoon. The tables glowed with beautiful candles symbolising the Festival of Lights, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed making colourful artworks, sharing laughter, and celebrating together. The event was filled with happiness, creativity, and a true sense of community—making it a bright and memorable Diwali for all who attended.

On Friday, 17 October, we celebrated South African Culture Day! 🌍✨

The day began with poetry in the morning, setting a creative and reflective tone. In the afternoon, the nearly full Captain’s Club came alive as we explored South Africa’s rich history, traditions, and cuisine. Residents savoured delicious South African cakes while learning about the country’s diverse cultural heritage.

It was a fantastic and memorable event, and everyone who attended had a wonderful time! 🇿🇦❤️

✨ What a wonderful morning at Marjorie House! We had the pleasure of welcoming Clare from Curiosity Case for a fascinating session on Handbags, Hats, and Hemlines. Clare brought along a delightful collection of vintage items, including elegant hats, classic handbags, photographs, and a variety of clothing styles from decades past.

The session sparked laughter, memories, and lots of conversation as residents shared stories of the fashions they used to wear and the special occasions they remember most fondly. It was amazing to see everyone engaging, reminiscing, and connecting over these timeless pieces.

A big thank you to Clare for bringing history and style to life in such a fun and interactive way! 💖👒👜

🌿 Recycling Arts Afternoon at Marjorie House! 🎨♻️

Some of our residents gathered in the Captain’s Club for a creative and eco-friendly Recycling Arts Afternoon. Using a variety of recycled materials, they crafted everything from colourful flowers and dragonflies to caterpillars and boats.

The room was filled with creativity, chatter, and laughter as everyone enjoyed each other’s company while working on their projects. It was a lovely afternoon of art, socialising, and warm drinks — a perfect reminder that imagination can turn everyday items into something truly beautiful. 💚✨

🌿 On Monday the 13th, four of our residents enjoyed a delightful day out sightseeing! We stopped for a lovely lunch in Lymington, followed by a scenic drive through the New Forest, where we spotted wild horses and took in the breathtaking countryside. 🐴🌳

A quick stop at Mudeford Quay treated us to beautiful views of the ocean and the Isle of Wight before we made our way back to Marjorie House. It was a long but joyful day, filled with laughter, great company, and the stunning beauty of nature all around us. 💛

What a morning at Upton Country Park Tea Rooms! ☕

Three of our residents shared laughter, hot drinks, and lively conversation. On the way back, a cheeky squirrel juggling too many nuts had everyone in stitches! We returned to Marjorie House, buzzing with smiles, just in time for lunch.

🌞 A Day of Friendship and Fun! 🌞

We were delighted to welcome two residents from Dorset House for a lovely day visit! They enjoyed a morning tour of our home and took in the stunning Poole Harbour views from our Seaview Lounge. ☕️✨

After coffee and a friendly chat with our residents, everyone gathered for a delicious lunch together. In the afternoon, we rounded off the day with a fun quiz on the balcony — lots of laughter and smiles all around! 💛

It was a truly wonderful day of connection, friendship, and shared moments. 💐

🌸 A Blooming Good Day Out! 🌸

Four of our residents enjoyed a lovely morning trip to the Wimborne Flower Festival at the historic St Cuthburga’s Church. 🌼

The church was filled with vibrant floral displays, each beautifully arranged by local groups and artists. Our residents loved taking their time to wander through the church, soaking in the colours, scents, and peaceful atmosphere. 💐

It was a truly relaxing and inspiring outing — a perfect way to welcome the beauty of autumn! 🍂✨

🚍💛 Exploring History at The Tank Museum! 💛🚍

Four of our wonderful residents from Marjorie House set off on an exciting trip to the Tank Museum. The group were amazed by the incredible number of tanks and military vehicles on display – there was so much to see and enjoy!

🕰️ For one resident, who served in the National Service, the visit was especially moving. He recognised several vehicles from his time in the forces and shared fascinating memories, making the day even more meaningful for everyone.

🍴 After a tasty lunch break, our residents continued exploring in the afternoon, discovering even more of the impressive collection before heading home with big smiles and plenty of stories to share.

It was a day full of history, conversation, and companionship – a perfect example of food, fun and friendship. 🌟
