Do you ever feel like you’re carrying everything; work, family, responsibilities, and still feeling guilty that it’s never quite enough?
Living in a constant state of pressure can leave you feeling emotionally drained, burnt out, and stuck in self-criticism. Many people tell me they’re exhausted but don’t fully understand why, or how to change it without letting others down.
CBT therapy offers space to slow this down.
It helps you understand what’s keeping these feelings going, where they began, and how to respond to them differently - with more clarity and compassion for yourself.
Your therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. We build something that fits your life as it is now. That might mean working on stress that never seems to switch off, improving sleep so you can feel more rested, or gently shifting the negative thought patterns that keep you feeling overwhelmed.
Burnout is often influenced by long-term stress, poor sleep, limited support, and being hard on yourself - not personal fault or weakness. CBT looks at the full picture, so support feels practical and grounding rather than another thing to manage.
I offer online CBT therapy across the UK and in-person sessions in Dorset, so you can access support in a way that feels safe and manageable for you.
If you’d like to talk about whether CBT could help, you’re welcome to book a free brief consultation through my website.

If you’re a mum who looks like she’s holding it together but feels constantly on edge inside, this is for you.
Burnout & Anxiety in mums often looks like:
• getting everything done
• never fully switching off
• feeling emotionally exhausted
• snapping, then feeling guilty
• telling yourself “I should be able to handle this”
This isn’t a personality flaw.
It’s what happens when your nervous system has been in survival mode for too long.
You don’t need to be at breaking point.
You don’t need to have it “worse” than other mums.
And you’re not failing at motherhood.
You’re responding to chronic stress the only way your body knows how.

✨Pause. Notice. Name. ✨
Three simple words but they can completely shift how you respond to anxiety and overthinking.
In CBT, this practice can you to step out of autopilot and observe your thoughts instead of getting swept up in them.
✨ Pause: take one slow breath & a nice long out breath
✨ Notice: what’s happening right now?
✨ Name: “That’s worry,” “That’s self-criticism,” “That’s my anxious mind.”
These pauses can break the cycle of overthinking and helps you respond from a wise, calm, compassionate headspace.
Save this as a reminder for your next anxious moment 💛

People-pleasing often sounds and looks, considerate, kind and thoughtful… but sometimes it’s something else entirely. 💭
Ask yourself:
👉 Are you trying to make sure they’re okay - or trying to make sure they’re okay with you?
There’s a big difference.
When our self-worth becomes tied to others’ approval, we can lose touch with our own needs, limits, and values.
In CBT, we often explore why this pattern shows up and how to start setting boundaries that come from calm confidence rather than guilt or fear.
You’re allowed to be kind without over-contorting yourself to be liked.
You don’t have to earn your place in someone’s life by keeping everyone happy. 🌿
✨ If this resonates, therapy can help you understand where people-pleasing comes from and how to break free from it.
💬 Do you recognise this pattern in yourself?

💛 Dyslexia Awareness Week 2025 💛
For many when a dyslexia diagnosis comes later in life, after years of believing they were “not good enough” at school or work.
The truth?
👉 Dyslexia isn’t about intelligence.
👉 It’s about the way the brain processes written language.
This week on the blog, I’m sharing:
✨ The hidden struggles of growing up undiagnosed
✨ How late diagnosis can bring both relief and grief
✨ The link between dyslexia, anxiety, and self-esteem
✨ Why understanding your neurodivergence can be a powerful first step towards self-compassion
📖 Read the full post: “Dyslexia in Adulthood: Late Diagnosis Stories and Their Impact” on my website.
You’ll also find links to:
📎 for adult assessment support
📎 Practical workplace guidance and resources
📎 How CBT can help address long-held self-doubt and perfectionism

🔎 It’s 💛
There are still so many myths and misconceptions about dyslexia and they can deeply affect how people see themselves.
One of the biggest?
“Dyslexia means you are stupid.”

Dyslexia is a difference in how the brain processes some information and is not linked to low intelligence.
This week, I’m sharing a new blog each day. Today’s topic is:
👉 “What Is Dyslexia? Busting the Myths”
In it, you’ll find:
✨ The most common myths (and the facts that replace them)
✨ Why dyslexia is about more than reading and spelling
✨ How understanding dyslexia can reduce anxiety and boost self-confidence
✨ Where to find reliable support and resources
📖 Read the full blog via the link in my bio.
Together, we can build more understanding and inclusive spaces for neurodiverse minds. 🌱

✨ It’s Dyslexia Awareness Week 2025 ✨
Dyslexia isn’t about intelligence, it’s about how the brain processes information.
For many adults, especially those diagnosed later in life, the journey can include years of self-criticism, anxiety, or feeling “not good enough.”
This week is about changing that story. 💛
I’ve written a new blog:
👉 “Dyslexia Awareness Week: Understanding, Supporting, and Celebrating Neurodiverse Minds”
In it, I share:
🌟 What dyslexia really is (and isn’t)
🧠 How it can impact confidence and mental health
💡 The unique strengths often seen in dyslexic thinkers
🤝 Practical ways we can all offer support
📖 Read the full blog on my website - link to book in bio
Together, we can create more understanding, inclusive spaces - at home, at work, and in therapy rooms.

💬 I’d love to know: did you discover your dyslexia later in life, or support someone who did? Share your experience in the comments, your story might help someone else feel less alone. 💬

📚✨ It’s Dyslexia Awareness Week 2025 📚✨
Here's a reminder that dyslexia is not just reading a bit slower. Dyslexia is a learning difficulty and comes under the umbrella of neurodiversity. Having Dyslexia and being exposed to the unhelpful views of others can have a huge impact on self confidence and self esteem. Struggling to navigate a text based world or process information in the same way as others can lead to anxiety and depression.
Please take some time this week to educate yourself about dyslexia and Dyslexia Awareness Week 2025.

If you're interested, CBT can support people with dyslexia (and parents/carers) by:
🌿 Building self-esteem
🌿 Managing anxiety around study or work
🌿 Coping with perfectionism and stress

👉 Task paralysis! 🫠
When your brain says “too much!” and you can’t even start.
It’s not laziness. It’s overwhelm.
In my latest blog, I break down how CBT helps mums:
✨ Understand what’s going on in your mind & body
✨ Break the cycle of avoidance
✨ Start with tiny steps that actually work
