I work out of a small and exclusive studio in Clifton, it is not a traditional gym, it is a safe environment for anyone who feels unsure and self-conscious. I also offer live group zoom classes twice a week which can be done from the comfort of your own home! My 12 week personal programme is accompanied by an online curriculum and integrated support system. I only work with 5 ladies at a time.

8 years as a Personal Trainer and those 8 years have seen so much! I’ve learnt a lot from my own journey and the hundreds of women I have helped…

Here’s my top 10:
1) if you want sustained change you have to make the shift at an identity level, you have to believe this is who you are, even if you are not there yet.
2) every workout counts, even the ones where you only do half of what you intended or for some reason the run was a lot slower than normal. In fact the hard ones count the most, they build the resilience and are vital pieces of the puzzle.

3) if you love the process you’ll achieve the goal but it won’t work vice versa, if you’re not enjoying your training enough to do it on the hard days you can’t achieve the consistency needed to affect change.
4) age does play a part but it is never too late to start and you can make changes at any time in your life with the right support and coaching

5) if you become disciplined and gain strength in the gym this will spill over into other areas of your life and you will experienced greater confidence and clarity.

6) if you make significant changes to your life you will lose people along the way, but you will gain more.

7) no fitness journey is linear. You will have internal and external setbacks, these will build strength and are part of the fabric of life.

8) being healthy and fit is multi faceted and means different things to different people, you don’t have to deadlift huge weights to be strong and you don’t have to run fast to be fit.

9) your body has a preference for it’s shape and size, you can optimise your muscle mass, shape and tone but pursuing something that goes against your natural make up may become dis-enchanting fairly quickly.

10) an effective personal trainer won’t just look at what you do in the gym, they’ll build a picture of your whole life, you may tell them things you’ve never told anyone else and that’ll help them make sense of where you’re at any why and how you respond. People think personal training is expensive but it’s a lot cheaper then therapy!

It’s been a long time since I posted anything in here.

My boy is 11 months now. It’s been the best of times, it’s been the worst of times.

I had a glorious pregnancy followed by a terrifying and traumatic labour which resulted in a genuine emergency c-section and a physical pain I didn’t know existed.

My baby boy had colic for the first 10 weeks of his life and would cry constantly. I was beside myself, this baby I had dreamed of my whole life seemed so unhappy, in so much pain and I felt so weak and so useless. I walked for miles with him in the sling as it was the only thing that would soothe him.

Together we learnt to breastfeed, I learnt how to get him to sleep. I learnt that he needed lots of stimulation and I would feel overwhelmed. I built a village of friends with no family close by.

I cried more tears than I ever knew possible. I loved harder than I ever knew possible. I felt weak and yet, so very proud of myself.

Months passed, he went to nursery. I went to work. I survived on 3 hours of broken sleep but I started to train anyway. I snatched moments for myself away from cleaning up another messy meal, I started to have conversations about things other than how little I was sleeping or the challenges of feeding.

And so, here I am, after 11 months. Saying ‘hello’ again because i feel I have to reintroduce myself. I’m a mother now, I’ve changed. I’m stronger, I’m more fragile, I’m more compassionate, I’ll settle for less but the accept how very big the small things can be.

Thank you for bearing with me, I’ve missed you all so terribly much.
