Turning negatives into positives.

Sometimes, (more like ‘often’) in life things don’t turn out the way we plan. And when that happens, there’s always a part of you that wants to get super angry; looking back on all the things, people or obstacles that got in the way of where you were going. But that fact is that it happened and there is not a lot that can alter that fact.

I believe that time spent looking back on some elements of the past can be detrimental and stop you finding a solution, or finding an alternative happiness. Living in the moment can allow you to find that silver lining to bad news, even if you do miss your flight to your long-awaited holiday! 🤣🙈✈️

This is progress.

Almost a year apart and having not tried a half wheel pose since November 2020 (bottom photo) I tried this out of nowhere in an unplanned flow (top photo) just because I felt like trying it. Looking at this, I’m elated at the progress; my shoulders are more open and supportive, my knees are over my heels and feet rooted down. I’ve not been working on this pose at all, but I think it is great to show the effect of regular yoga practice can have on all of the individual parts of the body.

Chaturanga practice with 3 legged dog variations.

So much of yoga relates to a focus on the spine. Lengthening and straightening the spine I have found gets me well on my way towards better posture in day to day life. It’s one thing I ABSOLUTELY love about practicing yoga. I mean, when in life would you ever really focus on the thing that supports you standing upright in normal every day to day life?!? Hardly ever. The spine is not a muscle so we need to work all of the small muscles that work alongside and support the spine for good spinal health.

I always throw some really nourishing spinal work into all of my classes to make sure our spine gets a good awakening and is fully engaged.

My first class at the Poringland Community Centre 🥰

This week was my first in-person class at the PCC. Due to the Pandemic, my classes have been Online for a long time now. I’m grateful that technology has allowed me to connect and flow with friends, family and clients from all over the UK during this time, (I even joined my 121 clients on Holiday in Cornwall! 🤣) but having this in-person class brought back the feeling that Yoga gave me when it was Brand new to me. To all those who joined me, thank you so much for flowing with me, and to all those who are considering flowing with me, I’ll see you soon! ☺️

I’m running an Online Surf yoga class this week!

I was lucky enough to grow up near(ish) to the sea and spent plenty of holidays on the beach and among the waves.

Surf and yoga are twinned in so many ways and I’ve decided to see if an online yoga class would be fun!
