The directional road signs to Neath Port Talbot Hospital have changed. The old red H signs have been replaced with new blue ones to remind people the hospital doesn’t have an A&E.
Neath Port Talbot Hospital DOES offer a Minor Injury Unit, so is ideal for treating the types of minor injuries listed below. However the MIU CANNOT treat serious conditions. The new signs reinforce this very important safety message.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT go to the Minor Injury Unit with a suspected heart attack, cardiac arrest, chest pains, stroke etc, or with severe injuries. It has no doctors and CANNOT treat you. You MUST go to the Emergency Department (A&E) at Morriston Hospital if you are seriously ill or severely injured.
If you need treatment for a minor injury (see list below) please go to our Minor Injury Unit at Neath Port Talbot Hospital, SA12 7BX.
The MIU treats adults and children over the age of one. It has emergency nurse practitioners, triage nurses and healthcare support workers who can treat patients for minor injuries. Open seven days a week between 8am and 9pm.
