"I have found Ian to be very warm and approachable, which has allowed me to open up during our sessions. I initially sought his support for some relationship challenges I was experiencing, and once I worked through those and made progress, I felt comfortable enough to begin sharing childhood traumas that had negatively impacted my life for a long time. Having shared these experiences, Ian has provided me with helpful strategies that have given me a sense of freedom and the ability to feel as though I can finally move on from my past. Talking through my challenges with him has also helped me develop practical ways of managing everyday life, with a particular focus on setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, which has been especially valuable in preventing me from spiralling into negative thought patterns. I cannot recommend Ian highly enough and would definitely encourage anyone who is struggling to reach out and benefit from his support."

Dave G wrote, "I am deeply grateful for the time I've spent with Ian. He has listened with patience and compassion as I shared my darkest struggles, and he helped me view them from a completely new perspective. His approach strikes the perfect balance - kind and supportive, yet also direct and honest, which was exactly what I needed.
Ian has given me invaluable advice on facing my inner demons, particularly in overcoming addiction. The breathing techniques he taught me have become part of my daily routine and a powerful tool in my recovery. Thanks to his guidance, I've been able to confront difficult times head-on and continue moving forward on my spiritual journey.
I'm now almost five months clean from my drug of choice, and my quality of life has improved beyond what I thought possible. Ian's support, wisdom, and genuine interest in my growth have been a crucial part of that transformation. I cannot recommend him highly enough, especially to anyone who may be in a dark place as I once was."

S.P. wrote, "I began working with Ian during a particularly difficult spell of anxiety, which has come in waves throughout my life. From the very start, I felt truly listened to and never judged. Ian created a safe space where I could share openly, something that usually takes me a long time to feel comfortable doing. His kindness, patience, and understanding made it much easier to trust the process.
I now feel much more in control of my life. My anxiety is far better managed through mechanisms that I felt tailored for me - not just a "one size fits all" approach, which is something I really admired about Ian's sessions. I would absolutely recommend Ian to anybody who is considering counselling. Thank you so much Ian for your support!"

"It took a lot to book that first appointment, but I needn't have worried so much.

Ian's gentle nature instantly put me at ease and I was able to be fully open and honest in a safe space. There was no judgement, I only felt supported and validated.

I would recommend Ian's services to anyone struggling. He has fully helped me turn my thoughts around and process previous events."

My Story

As a person-centred counsellor I provide a place of safety and confidentiality where you can discuss openly what is troubling you, a place where you’ll be listened to.

It may be that you are stressed, angry, frustrated, anxious, depressed, feeling lost or simply stuck, not sure what to do or how to express how you feel. Maybe you have suffered a loss or a bereavement and need help to find your way of moving on.

I will be accepting and non-judgemental of what you have to say and I’ll work with you to help you find your answer.

I’ve recently successfully completed the Diploma Course in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy at Moray College UHI, in Elgin.
