🧘🏼I’M NOT ME WITHOUT MOVEMENT 🧘🏼

I’m often told I work too hard and I should take time out to rest and relax.
But that’s not me.
Some people run, some people lift, some people binge-watch. Me? I move. Movement ju**ie right here 🙋

When I don’t move something feels off. Don’t get me wrong I love a lie in and a solo spa is one of my favourite dates with myself but when I’m away from my mat too long I start to stiffen up and much to the fellas annoyance I’m a little bit grumpy.

Thankfully, here in oz I’ve found another class to book myself onto first thing on Saturday morning :-)

Talking of Saturday morning … just had a massive bout of bloody fomo!

The stunner that is Miss Lou will be opening the studio for 2026 with Revive Yoga this Saturday at 9am…move, breathe, and reconnect with your body if like me a few days off your mat has left you a bit stiff and stagnant :-)

You don’t need fixing, upgrading, shrinking, optimising, or reinventing. I certainly bloody don’t either as despite what these pics say…. I’m fab enough thanks!

Let’s call it what it is:
A whole lot of bu****it designed to make you feel not-enough so someone else can sell you transformation in exchange for cash.

Detox this. Reset that. Become better, lighter, more disciplined, more evolved.
Go away….

You are not a January project.
You are not late.
You are not behind.

Growth that’s real doesn’t arrive on a calendar date or in a neatly packaged programme with a discount code. It happens slowly, sideways, messily and when you decide it matters, not because the internet told you it’s time. Embrace the beautiful disaster you are - you are perfectly imperfect or imperfectly perfect - I never know the right way around but it doesn’t really bloody matter does it?

If you want to change, beautiful.
If you don’t, also beautiful.

Discover yourself on your own terms.
Move when it feels true.
Rest when you need to.
Evolve because it’s honest not because it’s January 1st.

Same you. Still enough.

🥳 👏🏼 THAT’S A WRAP 👏🏼 🥳
A little late posting, but the weekend marked our final class for 2025 and as usual we finished the year with our ever famous 12 Days of Christmas festive flow. 🐦 🕊️ 🐓🐥💍🥚🦢🐄💃🪈🤸🏼🥁

A class filled with pure joy and laughter as we took on the flow challenge yelled ‘EGG’ ( ) and laughed until we cried - def our Christmas tradition!
A class that really pinpoints everything the studio is about - pure joy.

As I settle in to a few days of much needed rest, I’m already gearing up for next year and as I look to build Sìdà yoga into something I never even thought was possible, my heart is full as I reflect back on what we’ve all built here.

2026 will be a year of more growth, more classes, more trainings and above all, more joy.

If your inbox has been anything like mine this week you would have been inundated with emails saying ‘last day to order for Christmas delivery’ and ‘your Christmas shopping is now 50-70% off’ (ok I went a bit sinister with that second one but how are there sale emails already?…)

🧘🏼‍♂️ MYTH: YOU NEED HIGH INTENSITY AND PUNISHMENT TO GET DEFINITION 💪🏼

I beg to bloody differ.

A lot of people think visible abs only come from high-intensity training or hours of cardio. But your core doesn’t actually need impact or exhaustion to develop strength.
Wait what? 😱
Don’t get me wrong, biological factors genetics and all that s**t are a factor but here’s my regime as a regular gal:

I do yoga (a lot)
I do fire & form (our functional movement class)
I drink wine
I love carbs

Movement classes taught the right way can build that definition if done correctly and here’s the crazy part you don’t have to kill yourself to achieve it.

My focus is always functional movement. I’d rather do 5 reps well than 50 with poor form.

Here’s my seven pence worth:

Slower, controlled movements activate your deep core muscles (like the TA), building functional strength - not just burn which is why this will always win out for me over high intensity.

Your breath supports your entire core system. When you move with diaphragmatic breathing, you improve stability, control, and results.

You don’t need heavy weights. You simply need to gradually challenge your stability with planks, balances, slow transitions, and work those mindful holds (enter yoga)

When you’re not stressed or overtraining, your body reduces inflammation and recovers better.

Visible muscle shows up when your body feels nourished and safe and not depleted. Make sure you hit those basic needs - enough sleep, enough water and eat right where you can (wine is one of my five a day 😂)

You can build strong, defined abs through mindful movement, not burnout.
Your core thrives on intention, not intensity.

✨ ETHEREAL FLOATING ✨

Friday’s sound bath felt otherworldly. The energy in the room was so soft yet so strong. It was like everyone was floating in the same current of stillness.
The more I host sound baths the more intuitive the practice feels. It’s not something one can ‘blag’ but I do argue that anyone can learn this skill with a bit of focus and intention - like anything :-)

Fridays Halloween sound bath carried the quiet energy of Samhain - a time of transition and reflection as the seasons turn. The sound seemed to move through the space with a sense of release and renewal, inviting stillness and rest, supported by a candlelight meditation and warming glow nidra. It was a powerful way to mark the shift into the darker months ahead. Many people had fascinating experiences, but as always, these are held in quiet respect to honour the privacy and sacredness of what unfolds within the session.

Every sound bath has its own rhythm, its own story, and Friday’s felt ethereal - a reminder of how sound can reach places words can’t. We always allow time after for decompression and of course snacks :-) Thank you to everyone who came and shared.

So many of my lovely students have been asking me for a yin class so tonight we are doing just that.

Tonight’s relaxing yoga will be yin.

Soft, nurturing and playing with our edge in longer holds with a soft breath focus to enable the nervous system to relax and allow for deeper range of motion. This is deeply nourishing for the joints and fascia, helps improve flexibility and helps with emotional release and resilience.
You’re likely to sleep better too 😉

🙌🏼☀️ FREE KIDS YOGA & MIGHTY MOVERS THIS BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND ☀️🙌🏼

What are you up to this Saturday!??
From 1.30pm we are offering yoga and mighty movement in the sunshine for all your little ones!

And what’s more….its completely FREE!!!

At Osprey Green by Portland castle, from 1.30pm vic from sìdà yoga will take your little ones on a magical adventure followed by yoga themed party games to entertain the whole family. This session is aimed at kids from 4-6 years old.

Conor from Gym geek will take the reins at 2.30pm for the 7-11 year olds with their mighty mover program that puts the fun into fitness as well as helping to build confidence through movement.

At Gym geek and Sìdà yoga we don’t believe for a second you are too young to start fitness with flare, attitude and most of all fun!

So come and join us!*
No need to book! Just bring your lovely selves and maybe a yoga mat if you need but both classes can be done without!

🗒️ Schedule:

⏰ 1.30pm - yoga storytime and yoga party for 4-6 year olds (sìdà yoga)
🕰️ 2.30pm - mighty movers for 7-11 year olds (the masterminds at gym geek)
