One Of The Best Client Transformations EVER!
Very soon I say goodbye to one of my clients who I think has had one of the biggest transformations EVER!
In her registration form when we started she wrote the following:
• I don't like myself
• I feel I am useless; a failure
• I feel I have no self-control
• I feel like a hypocrite
• I feel like a waste of space
It was tragic, even more so because she'd been living and thinking like this for the best part of 60 years, unsurprisingly food was her comfort.
Her past was full of emotional pain and trauma and on the group calls she was very tearful and barely spoke to begin with because she was so shy and fearful.
But in a few short weeks changes began to happen.
She became more animated and chatty on the calls, the emotional weight started lifting (after doing some deep work together) and she began to look lighter and freer.
She faced every challenge fearlessly determined to get results and she did!
Over time she smiled more, learned to love and accept herself and became friends with her own mind. No more need for overeating.
She's now charging more for her services (imposter syndrome has long gone!) and has got herself in a swimsuit and been swimming - both things she believed she'd never be able to do! And the day she said she was proud of herself and meant it, I couldn't have been prouder myself.
I can't put into words how incredible the shifts have been for this particular client, she came from such a terrible state of pain and not valuing herself, full of self-loathing to feeling proud of herself and living her life fearlessly.

Great to be invited onto Nicky Campbell's show on Radio 5 Live yesterday talking about body image and how social media can have a negative impact on mental wellbeing.
As many women struggle for the Instagram look which is often unobtainable and/or unsustainable it can leave them feeling worthless and not good enough.
Time for society to stop valuing women on their weight and start celebrating us for all the other incredible qualities we have.

This week two new incredible ladies joined my programme and things are ALREADY changing for them as they begin their transformational journey with me.

It’s about the beliefs you have about you.

This week I’ve had phone calls from three ex-clients so far!

One of my ex-clients is writing a children's book.
She said she's going to put a dedication to me.
This is because before she worked with me something like this would have felt an impossibility.
In fact her default position was "I can't" on everything.
But these days she's doing so much - joining different groups, organising holidays, trying new experiences and now writing a children's book!
Long gone is the lady who stayed indoors afraid to put herself out there, stuck in the past, just existing not living and using food for comfort.
But now at 66 she is LOVING life! And the need to comfort eat has gone.
All of this has been achieved by helping her get rid of the emotional trauma that was driving her behaviour and teaching her how to work with her mind so it's her friend and not her enemy.
And when you do that you can live a fulfilled life with no more room or need for overeating!
She told me "This is by far the best investment I've EVER made". And she's made a lot at 66 so that's quite something for me to hear.
But it's true because in just a few short weeks she's gone from "I can't" and using food to stuff down everything she was feeling to "I can!" and no longer feeling empty. And living her best life.
Pretty priceless, right?

Why Binge Eating Feels Or****ic In The Moment And How To Stop It
You have two choices in life:
1. To beat yourself up
OR
2. To be kind to yourself
Most people choose the first option.
Most people don’t realise that they’ve chosen that option.
Most people don’t even realise that there are two options.
So, they live their life beating themselves up for every god damn thing and then they’re surprised and frustrated and angry with themselves when they overeat or drink or gamble or whatever.
But, when you give yourself that much pain on a 24/7 basis – telling yourself how s**t you are, what a failure you are, how disgusting you are – why are you surprised that you need some form of relief?
And what gives the quickest relief? Food of course!
BUT…
If you’re smart and you choose the second option (to be kind to yourself) you won’t need that relief.
Now, being kind comes in all sorts of ways, for example:
• Getting rid of emotional trauma
• Freeing yourself from old stories and beliefs
• Setting healthy boundaries
• Healing past trauma
• Getting rid of subconscious blocks
• Having a great dialogue with yourself
• Etc.
But when you do all of that you really won’t need food in the same way ever again.
When you have a food issue and you binge, it feels or****ic because it’s taking away a huge pressure of all of the above – the emotional trauma etc. but when you’ve got rid of that pressure you don’t need the release from it.
Finding your specific pressure points is a bit like a jigsaw puzzle as everyone’s are specific to them, understanding why they’re there and healing them so you have no more pressure that you need relief from.
And when you do that you have complete freedom over food. The hold it once had over you will be gone as you don’t need to relieve those pressure points because they’re just not there any more.
You’ll still enjoy food but it won’t be in that desperate, or****ic ‘I NEED this!’ type way.
And when you don’t need it in that way the stop button is easily activated! And you won't have that hideous self-hate and self-loathing afterwards either that you get when you have a binge because there's no more bingeing!

Why Overeating Is NOT Your Fault!
Stopping emotional eating, binge eating and overeating isn’t as easy as sticking to an eating plan, if it was then nobody would have a weight issue!
There are several factors involved if you want long-term success and they all start with the mind because it’s not your body that craves the crappy food it’s your mind so this is where the work needs to be done to overcome any food addiction.
If your body had a voice it would not ask you for unhealthy food which means it’s the mind that’s asking so that’s what needs to change.
But why does that mind overrule what you really want, which is to be healthy and happy?
Well, 95% of what you do is operated at the subconscious level and is driven by the underlying beliefs that you have about yourself and about your world. It’s unconscious behaviour and often you have no idea what the beliefs are that you hold that are driving your actions so therefore you feel powerless to stop it.
Dieting relies on willpower alone and is operated at the conscious level (5% of what you do).
If you have 5% therefore fighting against 95% (the subconscious behaviour), the 95% will always win out.
Every habit of action is run by a habit of thought so, until you work out what the thoughts are that are driving the behaviour in the first place, it’s impossible to change it.
You can’t diet-out the thoughts.
This is why diets, slimming tablets, gastric bands etc. don’t work because they’re not getting to the root cause of what’s really going on, they’re not looking at the THOUGHTS that drive the behaviour.
And there will be a number of different things going on:
1. Thoughts/beliefs about food e.g. if you come from parents who didn’t buy much food, the belief of the child then becomes “I have to eat as much food as I can to survive because I don’t know when it’s going to be available again”. The mind is always in survival mode so no amount of dieting is going to give up that belief – you have to change the belief for long-term success.
2. The negative thoughts/beliefs you have about you e.g. if you believe you have no value or you’re not good enough you’re not going to want to look after yourself by eating healthily.
3. The poor relationship you have with yourself e.g. if you hate yourself on a daily basis you’ll want to eat food to make you feel better.
It’s obviously a little more complex than this and the above are very simple examples to help demonstrate what I mean but you get the idea.
Your reasons of course, will be different to those above but the concept is exactly the same, it’s your thoughts and beliefs that are the cause of your destructive eating patterns but if you have no idea what they are (which most of us don’t) you’re powerless to stop the behaviour. Therefore, this is not your fault.
How can you possibly fix something that you don’t understand?
You cannot diet-out thoughts and beliefs that you don’t know about and even if you did know what those thoughts were you couldn’t diet them out anyway, you have to change them.
So, change the thoughts, change the actions!
I see so many women at the end of the road who have tried for decades to diet-out the thoughts with zero success. And then, when they do it my way the magic happens, the overeating and emotional eating stops.
Changing their thoughts changes their actions.

What Drastic Action Have You Tried To Stop Thinking About Food?
I see women all the time that are so desperate to lose weight that they try anything - slimming pills, gastric balloons even really invasive gastric band surgery.
They spend thousands of pounds trying to find the one thing that will work and when it doesn't (which these things don't) it leaves them feeling even more fed up, sad, unhappy, and disgusted with themselves.
There's also all of the hideous diets - the 5:2, the cabbage soup, the no carbs, the shakes - there are hundreds, probably thousands of them and they too all leave you feeling fed up, sad, unhappy, and ashamed.
Because it's not the body that craves food it's the mind, and that's why these solutions don't work, because they're not dealing with the REAL issue.
You can have all these different procedures done and try all the different diets but if you've still got the overwhelming thoughts about food you'll find a way to eat that food - some people even liquidise their food just so they can have their fix!
Life does NOT have to be this painful!
You can stop being obsessed with food just by changing your thinking. Sounds simple but it's true, I know, I've done it, and now I help other women do it too.
By understanding WHY you overeat in the first place and REPROGRAMMING your mind you CAN be free of emotional eating, you CAN stop all those overwhelming thoughts for good.

Well, as we head towards the summer (although it doesn't feel like it with the weather we've been having lately!) it's good to know that my clients are all going to have their first holidays not being controlled by food!
And they'll actually be able to ENJOY the sunshine (when it finally comes) not worrying about their bodies, not worrying what other people think about them and not worrying about food.
Holidays can always be a huge trigger when you've got food, body and confidence issues but as we work on all of these through my programme I know summer is going to be so different this year for my amazing clients.
And here are some of the highlights from this week of their wins:
• “I’ve not had a binge since I’ve been on the programme and I no longer wake up in the morning planning binges!” Client in week 6
• Coming off anti-depressants as she now feels so good about herself - and I can really see it in this client, she's done a huge 180 degree turn in her life
• Dealing with her husband's family in a much calmer more logical way whereas before they would have been a huge trigger
• Walking away from a job that undervalued and underpaid her and calling in new clients as she made more space for them
• Going swimming with her kids something she avoided at all costs before
• Not getting upset when she was criticised by close family members like she would have done before as she now knows how to leave that stuff with them and not take it on as hers
• Letting go of past pain and trauma that had plagued her for most of her life
• Creating an exit plan for her current job as she sets up her new business and gains her two first clients
• Sleeping so much better and she's only a few days in!
• Getting excited about new beginnings whereas before every day felt like a chore
• No longer wanting unhealthy food as she sees herself as high value now and has no need for those foods anymore
These are all things these ladies were not able to do before joining the programme.
You see it isn't the weight that holds you back it's your THINKING and how you feel about yourself. But learn how to control your thoughts and not only will you feel in control around food but you'll improve every single aspect of your life too and start LIVING it, not avoiding it.

As a kid my sister was always the one who won things particularly raffles, she ALWAYS won something at a raffle even if she only had enough money to buy one ticket!
I never won anything so of course my story then became 'I never win anything'. But I did win things, I won things on academic merit, never through luck alone though.
This week things finally changed.
I won my first ever raffle!
My stables where I ride every week sent me a text saying I'm one of two winners in their Jubilee raffle!
Sadly I haven't won beautiful Biscuit pictured here. But I have won a free ride and I'll hopefully get to jump him again like I did last week.
Recently I started to change the messaging I give to myself about luck when it comes to certain things so is this proof of that hard work paying off? I like to think so.
