Remembrance.

We are so proud of the children today who have not only listened but have worked together to pay their respects on remembrance day. Our groups today have learnt about different coloured poppies and all about the poppy and it's significance.

We came back to school with lots of creative activities and excitement continues with lots of children visiting our new Guinea Pigs x The Dragons Nest has started working with new interventions and we are so proud of the children for managing to talk through their feelings. Now for a weekend of rest.

We have new visitors in morning mindfulness this morning. The children were so pleased to welcome Honey and Hazel who will be living at school with Patch. The children have been busy preparing their hutch with houses and toys.

Cold, dark school mornings are tough – for children and parents! ❄️🌧️

Here are quick ways to make them easier:

☀️ Gentle wake-ups: Use soft lighting or cozy snuggle time. Allow an extra 5 mins.
🎶 Music helps! Play an energising morning playlist.
🍳 Warm breakfast = motivation: Think hot cocoa, porridge or pancakes.
🧣 Prep ahead: Clothes, bags, snacks, lunch — ready the night before.
🎯 Make it fun: Turn getting dressed into a game or challenge. Beat the clock!⏰️
💬 Focus on the good: Talk about something to look forward to.

Even small changes can turn cold chaos into calm(ish) mornings. 💪

This term, across both schools, the children have been using My Happy Mind to learn all about their brains. This NHS backed programme supports their wellbeing.
So proud of them explaining Team HAP (their Hippocampus, Amigdala and Prefrontal Cortex) and how they all work best together.
