We’re delighted to invite families and friends to view I Am Born, a beautiful visual arts project bringing together residents from Braemar Care Home and young people from Motiv8 and the Brook Club.

Led by artists Ally Ashworth and Rachel Johnston, the project uses archival imagery from the Portsmouth History Centre, The News Portsmouth, and The D-Day Story to spark conversation, shared memories, and creativity across generations.

The resulting artworks tell powerful visual stories of life, identity, and connection — created together by older and younger voices.
We would love you to join us, celebrate the artists, and see what can happen when generations create side by side.

✨ Thursday 29th January – Sunday 8th February 2026, 10am to 4pm daily
✨ Special event Tuesday 3rd February 4 to 5.30pm

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful team from The Mary Rose to our community! ⚓️

They shared a fascinating presentation about the history of the Mary Rose, along with original artefacts, giving everyone a truly special opportunity to connect with our local heritage.

It was a brilliant, hands-on experience that sparked lots of interest, memories, and conversation throughout the home.

A huge thank you to the team for bringing history to life and making the session so engaging and accessible for everyone 💙

What a wonderful and successful Christmas party we had at Braemar Care Home. The atmosphere was full of laughter music and festive spirit from start to finish.
A special thank you to our entertainer David Pepper who was great fun and had everyone joining in. Residents staff families and friends all came together and made the day truly special.
Thank you to all the families and friends who joined us and helped make this celebration so memorable.
