This World Kindness Day, we’re celebrating someone who truly represents what the day is all about - Margita Posova.

As Care Manager at Hill House School, Margita’s compassion, dedication, and quiet strength shine through in everything she does. She doesn’t just manage care; she lives it. From arriving at 5am on Christmas Day to transform the hall into a magical winter wonderland, to stepping in calmly during challenging situations, Margita ensures every child and young person feels supported and valued.

Margita’s kindness truly shines - earning her the title of National Winner of the Michael Hill Charitable Community Award at this year’s CareTech Care Awards.

Today, on World Kindness Day, we celebrate Margita and everyone like her who makes kindness part of every single day.

Congratulations, Margita!

We’re so proud of our amazing young people from Cambian Hill House School, who took part in this year’s Pass the PEDALL fundraising event in the beautiful New Forest!

PEDALL is a fantastic organisation that provides inclusive cycling experiences for everyone, with a diverse fleet of specialist bikes so that all abilities can enjoy the freedom of cycling.

At the event, riders passed the PEDALL baton around the track, aiming for a collective distance of 1,407 kilometres, the length of the UK from Land’s End to John O’Groats! 🇬🇧

Our Hill House team arrived full of excitement, eager to jump on their bikes and take part. There was so much laughter, cheering from friends and family, and plenty of pedalling power throughout the day!

After completing their laps, everyone proudly received their medals and event t-shirts and of course, celebrated with some well-earned ice creams.

Hill House raised an incredible £275 for PEDALL, with hopes to match fund this total helping the charity continue making cycling accessible to all.

What a wonderful day of community spirit, fitness, and fun!

Well done Hill House, we’re so proud of you!

This Anti-Bullying week is all about the ‘Power for Good’ encouraging young people and adults to recognise the positive power they each have to make a difference.

Today is also Odd Socks Day! A fun reminder to celebrate what makes us unique and that its okay to stand out.

At Cambian, we foster kindness, respect, and understanding by helping our young people learn about positive relationships through circle time, class projects, and assemblies.

We also recognise that not everyone communicates in the same way. That’s why we ensure that every voice; whether spoken, signed, written, drawn, via a communication aid, or shown through actions, is heard and valued.

Together, we can all use our power for good to lift others up, celebrate kindness, and create safe spaces where everyone feels valued and respected.

At Cambian, we believe every young person should have the opportunity to express their thoughts, wishes and feelings. That’s why we’re delighted to see the amazing team at Hill House School embracing Smartbox’s Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) technology, helping young people find their voices and communicate in ways that truly reflect who they are.

At Hill House, this technology has been nothing short of transformative. The team have seen incredible progress as our young people gain confidence, independence, and joy through making choices and sharing emotions, to building stronger connections with peers and staff.

Take a look at how young people at Hill House are using their Smartboxes and discover the inspiring ways communication is helping them express themselves every day.

We’re inspired by the Hill House community for leading the way in inclusive communication and demonstrating the impact of giving every young person a voice.

They brought props, showed videos, and shared real-life stories that really got our students thinking and asking lots of great questions!

The fire crew praised our students for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and excellent behaviour. A huge thank you to the Greater Manchester Fire Service for delivering such a valuable and interactive session!

Meet Baxter, Grateley House's much-loved therapy dog in training.

Baxter is just one year old but already stealing hearts with his friendly personality and love for students and staff. He’s very well known for his cheekiness (and his squirrel-spotting skills)!

He is currently undergoing his PAWS Therapy Dog training and in June, our PAWS Assessor, Jackie, came to see how Baxter was getting on and he received a glowing report.

He is continuing his training and building confidence through meet-and-greets, as he prepares for his formal PAWS Therapy Dog Assessment.

Good Luck Baxter!

We are proud to share this quote from Cambian Hill House School’s Ofsted Care Report.

Every day the dedicated and knowledgeable team at Hill House go above and beyond to understand each young person’s unique needs, building trusting relationships and helping them to truly flourish.

It’s fantastic to see Ofsted recognise the compassion and commitment that define Hill House and it’s no surprise they’ve been rated Outstanding since 2017!

About Cambian

Cambian is one of the largest providers of specialist education and behavioural health services for children in the UK. Our services have a specific focus on individuals who present with high severity needs.

We provide a broad range of specialist services across England and Wales. These services include specialist education schools and colleges for both day and residential learners, residential care homes and a therapeutic fostering service.

Our specialist education schools and colleges support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger Syndrome (AS), moderate to severe learning disabilities, associated challenging behaviours and complex needs.

Our specialist residential care homes support children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and associated complex needs. We provide care, therapy and education for a discrete cohort of needs within these homes; this includes provisions for children who have experienced Complex Trauma (neglect and abuse), those who have been sexually exploited, and those with a learning disability. These homes are all supported by specialists schools to support their individual educational needs.
