🌟 Cooperscroft is excited to announce our partnership with the Rotary Club of Brookman’s Park for the Wrap Up Warm Up campaign! Together, we’ve collected over 200 coats for local men, women, and children in need. These donations will go to Crisis at Christmas, Women’s Refuge, and Isobel Hospice, helping to keep our community warm this winter. ❄️❤️

Our Residents and Relatives came together yesterday to honour one of the nation’s most meaningful occasions — Remembrance Day.

In last week’s arts and crafts sessions, everyone joined in making poppies and creating beautiful artwork, which we proudly decorated in all our lounges and pantry.

We were truly honoured to be asked by The Royal British Legion to lay a poppy wreath on Remembrance Sunday. The procession, led by the Potters Bar Band, included Cadets, Scouts, Girl Guides, and members of our wonderful community.🌹

On Sunday, residents gathered to watch BBC One’s “Remembrance Day: The Cenotaph and a special Remembrance Sunday episode of Songs of Praise”, joining together for the minute’s silence. Every resident who wished to take part was supported to do so. Then on Tuesday, each resident received a poppy, and we came together once again to observe the two-minute silence at 11am.

The day ended on a lovely note with a wonderful performance by Jessica, who brought the home to life with classic wartime melodies from the 1950s and 60s. Residents then enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea, sharing stories and reflections together. It was a heartfelt and memorable week — one that left everyone feeling proud to have paid their tribute to the fallen.

🌟 Our First Ever Emergency First Aid at Work Course! 🌟

We’re so proud to share that this week we held our first ever Emergency First Aid at Work course right here in our nursing home, expertly delivered by our amazing PDL (Practice Development Lead)! 👩🏫💉

Having our own in-house trainer means we can deliver tailored, hands-on training that truly meets the needs of our team and residents. It allows us to:
✅ Provide flexible training that fits around our busy care schedules
✅ Ensure everyone feels confident and competent in responding to emergencies
✅ Build a strong, supportive learning culture within our home
✅ Keep our skills fresh and up to date, without having to leave the workplace!

A huge well done to everyone who took part from both Cooperscroft and Cuffley Manor Care Home, and for making it such an engaging and informative session. 👏👏

There’s nothing quite like a calm Friday spent right here at home — the perfect mix of relaxation and joy! 🎶

Residents enjoyed some soothing music while soaking up the beautiful garden views, sharing stories while flower arranging, and picking a few fresh goodies straight from our own garden.🍅 Others took the chance to unwind with the morning paper and a cup of tea, enjoying the peace and comfort of our lovely surroundings ☕📰💚

Our dedicated team from Cooperscroft and Cuffley Manor Care Home started the day bright and early at 7:00 AM for essential training sessions, including Basic Life Support, Fire Safety Awareness, and Moving & Handling. 🩺🔥💪
