Reflexology is believed to have been used around 5,000 years ago in China and Egypt. It is based on a theory that the body is divided into energy zones, which run horizontally and vertically, ending at the hands and feet as reflex points. These organs correspond to organs and areas in the body within the same zones. Pressure is applied to these points which stimulates circulation and relaxation and releases blocked energy. Relaxation in turn encourages the body's own natural healing which helps to maintain a healthy balance. Additional Chinese Acupuncture points are included to enhance the treatments. Reflexology benefits many physical and emotional ailments and research shows that it particularly benefits stress related conditions. It can speed up the body's own natural healing process, improve circulation, release muscle tension and help with emotional disturbances. It flushes out toxins and builds resistance to disease. It can also help with headaches, bowel, sleep and energy problems and can be very beneficial during pregnancy. Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is an ancient traditional therapy originating from India and has been practised for over 4,000 years. It is a very powerful therapeutic massage where pressure is applied to points on the scalp, neck, shoulders, arms and face. Stimulation encourages lymphatic drainage which helps remove toxins, improves circulation and boost the immune system. It can help with headaches, sinus problems, eye-strain, insomnia, stress and muscular tension. It also promotes healthy organs, increases productivity and creativity and improves the complexion. This is an extremely enjoyable and deeply invigorating treatment. Seated Acupressure Massage
Modern day Seated Acupressure (also known as On-Site or Chair Massage), is a hybrid of an ancient Oriental massage called Anma and Shiatsu. It is a meridian based therapy in which thumb, finger elbow and knuckle pressure is used over many of the acupressure points accessible on the back, arms, hands, neck, head and legs. This technique helps to stimulate and balance the flow of chi-energy or life force throughout the body. In turn, this stimulates the circulatory, muscular, nervous, immune and lymphatic systems and promotes the release of endorphins and mood-regulating neurotransmitters. This leaves the client feeling relaxed but energised, and in a clearly focused frame of mind. Seated Acupressure can help with backache, headaches and migraines, RSI, asthma, toothache, fatigue, sinus problems, menstrual pain, digestive problems, eye-strain, anxiety, irritability and insomnia. It also stimulates lymphatic drainage, helps boost the immune system, removes toxins and can reduce stiffness and improve flexibility. The treatment is gentle and non-invasive and can benefit everyone. The client is seated in a special supportive chair and remains fully clothed. Natural Lift Facial Massage (Facial Rejuvenation)
This deeply relaxing facial massage combines three highly effective techniques - Indian Face Massage, Japanese Face Massage and Chinese Acupressure points. These techniques act as a natural face-lift without the need for surgery and helps to keep you looking and feeling younger. The tension we carry in our facial muscles is a primary cause of wrinkles. This massage helps to delay the ageing process by reducing wrinkles, expression lines, dark circles and bags. It also helps to tone and lift the facial muscles, improves elasticity, releases tension, and as a result improves the complexion and eliminates toxins. The treatment is very powerful and after just one session you will see and feel the change in your face! Swedish Full Body Massage
Swedish Massage was invented by a Swedish fencing instructor named Per Henrik Ling in the 1830s. When he was injured in the elbows, he reportedly cured himself using tapping (percussion) strokes around the affected area. He later developed the technique currently known as Swedish Massage. This is a very popular, deeply relaxing massage using Swedish Massage techniques covering the neck, back, shoulder, arms, hands, legs and feet. It involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows and knuckles to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Swedish Massage stimulates the circulation, which induces mental and physical relaxation, decreases stress and muscle tension, reduces aches and pains, and improves range of motion. It also helps remove toxins, and it can help improve digestion and muscle tone. It can also benefit sufferers of asthma, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic and acute pain syndromes, headaches and athletic injuries; as well as speeding up healing from injury and illness and improving lymphatic drainage. Physical benefits:
It can help loosen tight muscles, relieve cramps and muscle spasms, decrease muscle fatigue, loosen joints, improve range of motion, increase muscle strength, calm the nervous system, stimulate blood circulation, and firm up muscle and skin tone. Mental and emotional benefits:
Mental benefits associated with massage therapy include the following: mental relaxation, improvement in length and quality of sleep, relief of stress, depression, anxiety and irritation, increased ability to concentrate and improved sense of well-being. For this treatment you will need to remove your clothes, and oil is applied to bare skin. This treatment is given in a lying position and pressure is applied to suit the individual’s needs. Regular massage can help keep the body balanced, strong and free of tension and pain, and help keep the mind calm and focused.

Why exercise is so important..
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1JAGtcJ9tf/

Regular exercise offers significant mental health benefits beyond just physical fitness. It can reduce anxiety, improve mood, and even help with depressive thoughts. This is because physical activity triggers the release of feel-good brain chemicals like endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin.

Over time, this chemical shift helps the brain better handle stress and promotes the growth of new brain cells, making it more resilient. Both cardio and strength training are effective; a brisk 20-30 minute walk can lift your mood for hours, while resistance workouts have been shown to reduce symptoms of depression. The key is to find a form of movement you enjoy and can do consistently, as even low-intensity activities can have a calming effect on the nervous system.

Maternity Reflexology (from 12 weeks)

Regular treatments during pregnancy can be very beneficial. This treatment offers a well needed time out for pampering and having a very calming effect for both mother and baby.
