Last night we hosted Dinner Club for the last time this year.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the families and friends who joined us to share such a special night with their loved ones. Seeing our home filled with conversation, laughter and familiar faces around the tables made the evening incredibly meaningful for everyone, especially our residents.

A very special thank you goes to our amazing chefs, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to turn ideas into plates of food. Their dedication, creativity and attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and the feedback from everyone has been fantastic – a real credit to their hard work.

Dinner Club is a real team effort though. The staff who work throughout the day, before and after Dinner Club to keep the residents safe, and make them look and feel special on the run-up to the evening itself. Especially Emma who spent the afternoon pampering everyone and doing their make-up.
The housekeeping staff who made the dining room sparkle, and the night staff who take care of everyone after Dinner Club and throughout the night.

For us as a Care Home, evenings like this are so important. Bringing families together under one roof, especially at such a special time of year, reminds us exactly, not just what Christmas is about, but what Primrose Bank is all about too.

There may be a few sore heads today which we take absolutely no responsibility for!!

Yesterday we were very lucky to have Alayne and David here to help our residents make some beautiful table arrangements for the dining room.
Alayne kicked things off with a demonstration, then, with a Baileys in hand, the ladies made everything themselves.
They were very proud of themselves, and so they should be. Aren’t they Wonderful! ❤️

Today we went for our annual trip to Barton Grange to see the wonderful decorations.
We made our way through the aisles and the residents talked about their own traditions and how they used to decorate their trees at home. 🎄
The weather held off which was a blessing, and we all had a lovely time. Big thanks to our volunteers who came along for the trip. It was lovely to have some of the residents’ families there to share the experience too.
We all left Feeling very Christmassy! ❤️

Good morning everyone! Here’s what’s in store for our residents this week…

This morning we’re going to have a little exercise class, as we won’t be seeing any of our regulars this week and it’s good to have a stretch! 🏋️‍♀️ This afternoon we’ll have the board games out ♟️

Tomorrow morning we’re off out to Barton Grange to see their festive displays. 🎄After lunch is slightly different tomorrow as our singer isn’t able to make it now. We’ve gone with a Michael Buble concert instead. 🎙️

On Wednesday morning we’ll have the dominoes out, and a test of the brain with a quiz after lunch. 🧠

On Thursday we’ll have Bingo 2️⃣5️⃣ in the morning, and then a special afternoon making table decorations with Alayne.

Karl leads the Artists 🎨on Friday morning and then Emma will make everyone feel extra special with an afternoon of pampering 💆as we make preparations for Dinner Club in the evening. 🍽️

Today we have been very busy indeed, we have started the morning off by making salt dough Christmas ornaments. This has allowed us to reminisce about our younger years and baking as well as our much loved family traditions. We loved getting our hands dirty, did you know that repetitive actions such as kneading dough can lower your levels of stress as well as improve and maintain fine motor skills? It was a real boost for our health and wellbeing as we chatted and laughed the morning away!
This afternoon we were joined by our “Littles” from Kids Planet Poulton and we decorated our ornaments so they could take them home and put them on their trees, lots of giggles, colouring, creative play followed by juice and biscuits and a Christmas card exchange, what a fun filled afternoon!

On Friday afternoon we spent some time with Chef Aaron and helped to prepare the Puddings for Christmas Day. 🎄
This morning, we’ve made some lovely little Christmas Cards for when Kids Planet Poulton come and see us tomorrow. 👧👦

Good morning everyone!

We’ve got a busy and exciting month ahead of us, and this is how the first week looks for us at PRB…

This morning we’ll gather for coffee and treats, then after lunch Helen and Jo take the knitters for the last session of the year.

Tomorrow begins with a Christmas service delivered as always by Martin from St Chads
In the afternoon, Rachel Mercer takes centre stage for an afternoon of live music

On Wednesday we’ll be getting crafty in the morning as we make cards for the nursery children. We’ll have a quiz in the afternoon

Thursday morning we’ll be making some Christmas cookies which should be done in time for us to decorate them when Kids Planet Poulton arrive after lunch.

Karl returns for Art Class on Friday morning, followed by Sophie with Yoga after fish and chips!

There might even be a bottle of Baileys opened too 😉

Tree 1/3 ✅

This morning whilst it was quiet, we put our first tree up in the main lounge 🎄
Residents took it in turns to hang a bauble on the tree and It wouldn’t be Christmas without a toast to our tree (any excuse!) so we polished a bottle of Bucks Fizz whilst we worked! 🍾

Good morning all!

This week you’ll notice a lot of changes in and around PRB as we edge closer to the festive season! 🎄

We start the week with a Residents Meeting this morning where we’ll discuss all things Christmas!
Later this afternoon Helen and Jo are here for the Knitting Group 🧶
On Tuesday we’ll have Dominoes and our Bryan for Live Music after lunch 🎙️
On Wednesday we’ll be adding a splash of colour with Flower Arranging 💐 , followed by an afternoon Quiz ⁉️
Bingo is on the cards for Thursday morning, and after lunch, Tabletop Curling 🥌
On Friday morning Karl leads the Artists as they try their hand at lino printing 🎨
After some good old 🎣 & 🍟 the residents will meet with Chef Aaron to keep up our tradition of making the Christmas Puddings for Christmas Day 👨‍🍳

We spent the afternoon with our ‘Littles’ from Kids Planet Poulton yesterday.
We had a colouring competition on one table which will be judged by our residents this morning.
On the other tables, we had origami, paper planes & Play Doh.

We spent the afternoon with Emma yesterday for our very first Sing and Smile 🎤😊
Residents were taken on a nostalgic journey through the decades as we sang songs from the 30’s through to the 70’s.
We had a wonderful afternoon with a big thank you to Emma, Lorraine and Paula. ❤️
