John, an enthusiastic cheese lover, recently enjoyed an outing to the cheese yard with Claire. He sampled a variety of melted Raclette cheeses and appreciated the change of scenery. It was a good opportunity to socialise and John enjoyed sharing stories of his own global travels. Next time, he would like to visit a Thai restaurant to remind him of his travels to Asia.

We were recently joined by Simi, our Regional Lifestyle Support Manager on a trip to the local garden centre. It was beautifully decorated with the stunning colours of autumn. Kay and June loved looking at the birds and Guinea pigs. We stopped in the restaurant for a quick treat of chocolate cake and coffee before heading back home.

We recently had the pleasure of celebrating the iconic German festival, Oktoberfest, with everyone who lives with us and their families. Our lounge was transformed into a festive German haven. Complete with traditional German music and an array of delicious mouth watering German delicacies. The spread included an assortment of meats, bratwurst and sweet treats like apple strudel, all perfectly paired with none alcoholic German beer. It was a great, fun afternoon that captured the authentic spirit of Germany. Danke schön to everyone who joined us.

Pauline had had a lovely afternoon outing this week. After dining at the Turkish bistro in Poynton, we had a look around Paul Tavernor’s mini art gallery and some other local shops, then we stopped at The Kingfisher for a cup of tea on the way home.

What fantastic fun we had at our Mamma Mia party!

We were joined by four other of our MMCG homes, coming together for an afternoon of music, dancing and socialising.

Vocalist Jayne ignited the party with renditions of all the greatest Abba hits... Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! and many more. The energy was infectious, and before we knew it the dance floor was full.

A huge thanks to our chef, Hayley, for providing such a delicious buffet. To Simi, our regional lifestyle manager, for working her artistic magic decorating and transforming our lounge into an Abba wonderland, and not forgetting Claire, our lifestyle coordinator, for organising such a fun party 🩵

Our book club is thriving, and our latest read “Jess and Norma” has been a resounding hit! Our ladies and gentlemen are thoroughly enjoying the stories, characters and themes that resonate deeply
with their own life experiences.

As we discuss the book, we are finding ourselves reminiscing about our own about our own childhoods, sharing laughter and memories with one another. It’s wonderful to see how the book is sparking conversations and connections among our residents.

But that’s not all! We’re so taken with Norma’s chicken hotpot recipe in the book that our chef has kindly offered to whip it up for us soon. We can’t wait to taste this delicious dish and savour the flavours of nostalgia.

The book club is more than just about reading, it’s about community, connection and creating new memories together. We are grateful for the joy that “Jess and Norma” had brought to us all, and we look forward to our next meeting, onto the next chapter.

Our intergenerational ambassador Eddie has been working so hard, attending events, helping serve drinks and joining in activities. He really does put a smile on everyone’s face, so we decided to treat him to his own MMCG chocolate bar. Well done Eddie, you deserve it!

What a fantastic time we had this week coming together for our Carmel Coachella music festival, the sun was shining, and we were so delighted to be joined by so many friends and families.

Our intergenerational ambassador Eddie was on hand to help with preparing and decorating for our flower power themed event. Alongside our lifestyle coordinator, Claire and Danielle from Hope Green, helped to dress the tables and prepare the garden.

Our chef Caitlin put on a delicious BBQ with our manager Mike and Maintenance lead, Phil, helping to flip the burgers.

Our headliner of the afternoon was singer Sam Jones, who belted out some real floor fillers.

We were joined by our friends from our sister home, Hope Green, who showed up with so much zest and enthusiasm, that they wouldn’t be too out of place at Glastonbury. A special mention goes out to John, who at 100 years old danced the afternoon away with the hugest smile on his face.

It has been so wonderful to share these precious moments with the people who live with us, their friends and families and of course our staff. It was so great to see everyone working so hard to make the afternoon a success and all importantly having so much fun. Here’s to making more memories, more laughter, more music and especially more fun...
