⛰️ Step up for Willowbrook Hospice – Edale Skyline Challenge 2026 💛

Join us on Saturday 5th September 2026 for the Edale Skyline Challenge – a breathtaking 21-mile circular trek with 1218m of ascent, starting and finishing in Edale in the Peak District. Expect rolling hills, panoramic views and an incredible sense of achievement as you cross that finish line.

Your challenge will help Willowbrook Hospice continue providing specialist, compassionate care to patients and families across our community.

As part of National Student Volunteering Week this week, The Volunteer Hub have had the pleasure of attending the Edge Hill University Volunteering Fair. During the event, we spoke with many students about the diverse and flexible volunteering opportunities available at Willowbrook. 💚💙

Freya, our Young Volunteer of the Year, volunteers at our Willowbrook Hospice Four Acre shop while studying Business Studies at Cronton College.

When reflecting on her volunteering experience at Willowbrook, Freya shared:

"The team at Four Acre is really friendly and I love chatting with regular customers and getting to know them all. It is such a lovely environment to volunteer in and it has helped me improve my social skills a lot. Working on the till is great too. I’m sure my experience here will be really useful when I start applying for universities or jobs in the future."

✨Thursday Thank You ✨

We were over the moon to welcome David and Geoff from the incredible UNISON SOUL CLUB (aka Nalgo Club), who presented us with an amazing donation of £1,570 following their annual Soul Club night 💙💚

As always, the night was a total sell-out - packed wall-to-wall with passionate supporters who come together for the love of soul music and community. Over the past 14 years, this brilliant event has raised an astonishing £24,000 for Willowbrook… truly unbelievable!

Willowbrook clearly holds a special place in the hearts of so many in the Unison Soul Club family, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Thank you for the generosity, the loyalty, and the love - our community is simply the best 💫
