Sandford is a beautiful Care Home situated just a few hundred meters away from the local shops and amenities of Prestatyn town Centre. The Care Home is ideally placed boasting some beautiful views of both the Irish Sea to the front of the building and, to the back of the building there are stunning views of the rolling hills of Gwaenysgor. The residential unit within the Care Home is completely purpose-built, with exceptionally large and spacious bedrooms furnished to exceedingly high standards and every room is fully en-suite with a walk-in wet room, toilet, and washbasin. There is a tastefully decorated communal lounge and dining area and a lift to get between floors. There is a communal bathroom available with electronic bath hoists to support those with mobility problems to access the bathing facilities with ease. The residential dementia unit is a part of the original house and, each bedroom is spacious and has a washbasin and is fully furnished to an exceedingly high standard. Some of the bedrooms on the residential dementia unit have their own access into the spacious and secure sensory garden area which leads from the large communal lounge and, there is a beautiful dining area. There are several communal bathrooms again equipped with bathing, showering and toileting facilities. The residential dementia unit is very dementia friendly with coloured doors, dementia signs and coloured handrails and toilet seats etc. In addition to this, there is an additional ‘quiet’ seating area away from the main communal lounge and, the unit boasts its very own indoor ‘Memory Lane’ whereby residents, their loved ones and staff can reminisce over past times. Sandford has additionally just won the “Top 20 Awards - 2024” for the second consecutive year in a row presented by carehome.co.uk and is now rated amongst the top 20 highest and best rated Care Homes in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️ Additionally, we've just been rated as "EXCELLENT" in our most recent Care Inspection report! Are you a compassionate and experienced Care Assistant ready to take the next step in your career? We’d love to hear from you!

At Sandford Care Home in Prestatyn, we are proud of the warm, supportive environment we provide for both our residents and our team. We are currently looking for a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join us on a 9-month maternity cover placement, working 42 hours per week, with pay rates starting at £14.25 per hour.

There may also be exciting scope to extend your employment with us beyond the initial 9 months.

Experience in a care setting (Senior level preferred)

A confident leader who can support and guide the care team

Compassionate, patient, and person-centred approach

Strong communication and organisational skills

Medication administration experience (preferred)

Leading shifts and supporting care staff

Administering medication

Liaising with families and healthcare professionals

Ensuring care plans are followed and kept up to date

The residential dementia unit is very dementia friendly with coloured doors, dementia signs and coloured handrails and toilet seats etc. In addition to this, there is an additional ‘quiet’ seating area away from the main communal lounge with an outdoor park theme. There is also a lift for residents to easily move between floors. At Sandford Care Home, we use a state-of-the-art Care Planning Technology to aid us in providing tailor-made care that is individualised to the needs, wishes and preferences of each resident. We have an activities co-ordinator who is able to cater for the individual interests and abilities of our residents.
