Casual Funeral Service Operative (Driver/Bearer) – As & When Required
We are a long-established, family-run funeral directors seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to join our team on an “as and when required” basis as a Funeral Service Operative (Driver/Bearer).
This role involves supporting our funeral services with professionalism, dignity, and respect at all times.
Duties will include:
• Driving funeral vehicles, including the hearse and limousine
• Acting as a pallbearer and assisting with coffin bearing
• Supporting funeral services and liaising courteously with families
• Participation in an out-of-hours on-call roll (as required), including evenings and weekends
The ideal candidate will:
• Be smart in appearance with a calm and respectful manner
• Hold a full, UK driving licence
• Be flexible with availability, including short-notice call-outs
• Be physically able to carry out manual handling duties
• Live within a reasonable distance of Prestatyn for on-call response
• Experience in the funeral profession is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, and able to work sensitively with bereaved families.
This is a casual position with hours offered as required, including participation in an out-of-hours on-call service.
