After 6 months out, I’ve returned to work today, back to routine and adjusting to my new normal. The rollercoaster has been wild and grateful to be on feet again. Hopefully progress continues.

It’s Tuesday, it’s grey, breezy and wet outside. Have been keeping cosy with the chihuahua and spending the day writing my next fibromyalgia article.

Please do not rush to pull up the dandelions because you find them offensive in your garden. They are a vital food source for bees at this time of year while everything else for them is still growing. Save the bees.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Sowed with love and looking forward to some home grown veg. Love feeling the soil in my hands and planting seeds, I find it grounding and calming. Let the magic of germination happen.

Let a little wildness stay in your garden. What looks like a basket of dead leaves is actually so much more. Two little ladybirds are tucked in dormant and waiting. If you look closely the green is already pushing through the brown, life is quietly keeping on going.

There is something in this for all of us, we are quick to see dormancy as failure, those quiet seasons, the periods where nothing seems to be happening, we judge them, rush them and try to tidy them away. However at times we do not see the most important work, sometimes rest is growth. The little ladybirds are not stuck, they are not failing, they are simply gathering their energy for the moment - just like you are.

This is why we should not make ourselves ‘tidy up’ too soon. Those dried stems, the scrappy bits we are quick to cut back. They are home, they are shelter, they are the reason these tiny, amazing creatures make it through.

Let a little wildness stay in your garden and in yourself. Those messy, dormant and in-between seasons are rarely the end of the story. They are just the beginning.

Keep on keeping on

I am grateful to be on my feet again and adjusting to my new normal, has taken 6 months. Nice to be out and about again, taking in a view. The health still has a long way to go but glad to be where I am right now after being in the eye of a storm🙏🏼🧿
