What’s your job role and what does a typical day look like?

I’m the Funeral Director based at our Prestonpans and North Berwick parlours. No two days are ever the same. I might be out conducting funerals not just across East Lothian, but in Edinburgh too. Some days I’m at cemeteries or crematoriums, and other times I’m helping bring loved ones into our care. Every day brings something different, and that’s what I love about it.

How has your Co-op career looked so far?

I’ve been in the funeral industry since 2014 and joined Co-op Funeralcare in 2018 as part of the Funeral Service Crew. In 2024, I was fortunate enough to step into the Funeral Director role — a position I truly love. It’s been a rewarding journey and I’m proud to be part of a team that makes such a meaningful difference.

What’s your one funeral wish?

I’ve got a few, but mainly I’d love for my family and friends to celebrate my life and all the stories that came with it. And maybe have a wee dram in my honour!

What’s your favourite thing we offer?
I absolutely love our Recollection Jewellery range. Being able to carry a loved one’s fingerprint with you — whether it’s on a pendant, cufflinks, or even a keyring — is such a beautiful way to keep them close. I have my mum’s fingerprint on dog tags and a ring, and it means the world to me.
