That’s a wrap from the Global Podiatry Conference 🇩🇰

What can I say, I’ve learned a huge amount but more importantly I’ve made great new friends and connections within the podiatry world.

The last few days have been packed with lectures covering ingrown toenails, running biomechanics, dermatology, and fungal nail conditions. Plenty to bring back and implement in clinic.

Safe to say Scotland was well represented… especially with our rendition of 500 Miles alongside Professor Ashford 🎤🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It wasn’t all lectures either. I managed to squeeze in some sightseeing, including the football stadium, war museum, Danish Resistance Museum, and even a quick trip over to Malmö 🇸🇪

Honestly, if you’re a podiatrist thinking about attending events like this… just do it. You won’t regret it.

🌍 Denmark Conference Update 🇩🇰

It’s been a rollercoaster few days at the Global Podiatry Conference here in Denmark.

I’ve attended a range of excellent lectures covering everything from vascular assessments and biomechanics to emerging technologies, including how AI can support private practice.

Looking forward to bringing this knowledge back and continuing to develop the clinic with new equipment and services - more to follow soon.

Outside of the lectures, I’ve managed to:
🎢 Ride the oldest operational rollercoaster in Europe
🧜‍♀️ Visit the Little Mermaid
🏛️ Meet new colleagues at Copenhagen Town Hall

A big credit to the Federation of Podiatrists for organising such a fantastic event so far.

Big thank you to Frazer at Best Foot Forward Ayr LTD for his mentorship throughout my steroid injection training. The guidance has been massively appreciated and made a real difference to my development.

Also a huge thanks to Ian Reilly for delivering the training and theory exam back in 2024, and for all the support while I worked through my supervised injections over 2024–2025.

Pleased to say I’ve now submitted everything and officially gained my certification in steroid injection therapy.

On to the next step.

Pothole Warning – Car Park Entrance at The Toll ⚠️

Just a heads up to everyone visiting the clinic there’s a large pothole at the entrance to the car park at The Toll.

It’s not your average one… it’s deep enough you could nearly fish in it 🎣

Please take extra care when entering and exiting to avoid any damage to your vehicle.
Also, no one came in to collect the mittens… so they’re mine now 😅🧤

We’re pleased to announce that a final-year physiotherapist will be joining us at the clinic this August following graduation.

In the meantime, He is qualified in Sports Therapy and Manual Therapy, and will be offering these services in clinic ahead of becoming fully qualified.

This is another step forward in expanding our MSK services and continuing to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.

Facebook reminded me today that it’s been 7 years since I volunteered at my first Special Olympics World Games.

Still one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. The positivity, the effort, and the atmosphere were something else.

Since then, I’ve also had the privilege of being involved in the Special Olympics World Games 2023 and the German National Games, experiences that have only reinforced how inspiring this community is.

A big thank you to Glasgow Caledonian University for giving me that initial opportunity.

Moments like that stick with you and definitely play a big part in why I’m so passionate about helping people stay active, mobile, and pain-free today at Sole Works 👣

Global Podiatry Summit – April

This April I’ll be heading to Copenhagen to attend the Global Podiatry Summit 🇩🇰 . It’s a great opportunity to learn from leading clinicians and bring new ideas and treatments back to the clinic.

If you’d like an appointment with myself in April, I’d recommend booking in soon as availability will be limited around the conference dates.

Don’t worry though the clinic will still be open while I’m away with the team on hand to keep things running as normal. 👣
