Calling all Scottish blues-rock fans…
The seventh Glasgow Blues Rhythm & Rock Festival is now just two days away!

Featuring six acts, including three Scottish bands and headliners the Deborah Bonham Band, the event takes place on Sunday 16th November at the Oran Mor, with a start time of 2pm and end time of 10pm. (Doors 1.30pm).

Over the course of an impressive career, festival headliner Deborah Bonham has established herself as one of the finest blues, rock and soul singers in the UK. A string of critically acclaimed original albums, collaborations, and standing ovation concert performances, from the Royal Albert Hall to the American amphitheatres of the Stars Align Tour with Paul Rodgers, Jeff Beck and Ann Wilson, have all consistently garnered glowing reviews.

The Deborah Bonham Band features Belfast born guitarist Peter Bullick, lauded by the music press for his passionate playing.

Her most recent album 'Bonham-Bullick,' released in 2022 on Quarto Valley Records, is an inspiring blend of blues, rock and soul interpretations of some classic and contemporary compositions spanning seven decades.
Hailed by Blues Matters! Magazine as contender for Album of the Year, 'Bonham-Bullick' received multiple five star reviews.
"Soulful and moving performances… the album sounds great."
– Rolling Stone

2023 saw the release of 'Heavenly Cream : An Acoustic Tribute to Cream,' also on Quarto Valley Records.
Deborah took lead on two tracks, featuring alongside such luminaries as Ginger Baker, Bernie Marsden, Joe Bonamassa, Maggie Bell, Bobby Rush, Pete Brown, Paul Rodgers, and bandmate Peter Bullick.
"I have no hesitation in nominating Maggie Bell and Deborah Bonham as the stars of the (Heavenly Cream) show"
- Velvet Thunder

Calling all Scottish blues-rock fans…
The seventh Glasgow Blues Rhythm & Rock Festival is now less than one week away.

Featuring six acts, including three Scottish bands and headliners the Deborah Bonham Band, the event takes place on Sunday 16th November at the Oran Mor, with a start time of 2pm and end time of 10pm. (Doors 1.30pm)

Every few days, in the run-in to the event, FabricationsHQ will be highlighting one of the acts performing.
This time around the stage spotlight falls on blues harmonica virtuoso Will Wilde.

Will Wilde has taken the harmonica way beyond its blues roots since first emerging on the scene in 2010.
Always pushing forward, musically evolving, and redefining his sound, Wilde took the blues rock world by storm with third studio solo album ‘Bring It On Home’ (2018) and the hard hitting sound of his band Bad Luck Friday on their 2022 self-titled debut album.

On albums such as ‘Bring It On Home’ and latest, and best to date album, ‘Blues Is Still Alive,’ Will Wilde’s hard-edged harmonica steals the spotlight from the traditional rock guitar,
It’s a boundary pushing sound that comes from being inspired by artists such as Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. “I’m interested in the creative, unconventional way that Morello approaches his instrument,” says Will. “I’m always looking to make new, interesting sounds with the harmonica too, and trying to change people’s perception of it.”

The best harmonica player on the planet! - Walter Trout

‘Blues Is Still Alive,’ which peaked at #5 on the Official UK Jazz & Blues Chart and #1 on the IBBA Chart, was acclaimed by critics and fans alike; to cap a great 2025 off, Will was recently honoured with the ‘Lord of the Blues’ Award at the HRH Awards and has just released a brand new single, ‘Christmas Eve Blues,’ a minor-key lament that echoes the spirit of Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac.

“I'm so looking forward to playing at the Glasgow Blues, Rhythm & Rock Festival this Sunday. It’s the first time my band have played in Glasgow, so we are really excited for it!” – Will Wilde

Joe Jackson and his band will be back out on the road in 2026, including seven UK dates.
(The UK dates follow a major North American tour that runs from May to July 2026).

The shows will feature songs from throughout Joe Jackson’s remarkable career, as well as promote the releases of his new album 'Hope and Fury,' which will be released worldwide on 10th April 2026.
Tickets go on sale November 14th, from:
www.aegpresents.co.uk/event/joe-jackson/

Though often depicted as a chameleonic artist who constantly changes his style, Joe Jackson insists that most of his albums are in his "own mainstream" — sophisticated pop songs, using different kinds of rhythms and combinations of instruments.
At the same time, Jackson reserves the right to step away from that mainstream. As he said in a recent interview, "Every now and again I’m going to do something different, to keep it interesting."

Hope and Fury however sits in the 'JJ mainstream,' with results that might strike a fan as a cross between 2019’s 'Fool,' 1991’s 'Laughter and Lust,' and 1982’s Night and Day.

The seventh Glasgow Blues Rhythm & Rock Festival is now just one week away.
Featuring six acts, including three Scottish bands and headliners the Deborah Bonham Band, the event takes place on Sunday 16th November at the Oran Mor, with a start time of 2pm and end time of 10pm (Doors 1.30pm).

Every few days, in the run-in to the event, FabricationsHQ will be highlighting one of the acts performing; this time around the stage spotlight falls on Scottish quintet Bison Hip.

Multi-hued blues band Bison Hip, who are making a welcome return to the festival, were formed by longtime friends during a lockdown Zoom call in 2020.
“I don't know who suggested it first,” explains vocalist Paul Sloway, “but it seemed like a great idea. Maybe it was the mid-life crisis at play!”

When they all finally got together in early 2021, the blueprint – make that bluesprint – was clear.
“We wanted to take our love of blues and rock, and mix it up with our experiences in life,” continues Paul. “Between us, we've been through so many things in life - big ups and huge downs, some successes, and a whole load of failures. We wanted all of that in the music, wrapped up in the DNA of our hometown, Glasgow.”

Debuting with two EP releases (which collectively would have made a blues and rock solid debut album), the band’s first full-length release was the highly regarded ‘Older Stronger Better.’
Following album ‘Welcome To The Rest Of Your Life’ solidified their status as one of the best bands on the circuit, one who are as comfortable delivering their high-class brand of blues rock in clubs as they are in much larger venues or at festival events.

Continuing their musical rise is best album to date ‘Everything That Came Before Was Just Leading Up To This,’ which was released earlier this year to fan and critical acclaim.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be back at the Glasgow Blues Rhythm & Rock Festival, playing tracks from our brand new album,” say the band. “It’s always a fabulous day, with a great line up - we can’t wait to see you all there!”
