Bowen is a soft tissue neuromuscular therapy that aims to restore healthy function to the body. This is achieved through a thorough assessment followed by a series of targeted 'moves' across facia, tendons, muscles and ligaments which once released return to a state of correct tone and function. As a result the body becomes balanced and this usually results in pain reduction, restored flexibility and a greater feeling of wellbeing.

Our story

My name is Rosslyn McNally and I am a fully qualified, experienced and registered Bowen Therapist based in Prestwick, Ayrshire. I am a member of the Bowen Therapist Professional Association (BTPA) and registered with the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

Introducing The Bowen Technique

The Bowen technique is one of the newest and most exciting forms of therapeutic bodywork. Making it’s appearance in Australia in the mid 1980’s, the popularity and spread of the Bowen technique has been truly remarkable. The technique is practiced in over 30 countries around the world and taught in more than 20. The technique derives it’s name from Thomas Ambrose Bowen (1916-1982), a humble, “self-trained” remedial therapist who called himself an osteopath.

Tom Bowen found that by restoring balance to the tissues of the body, the underlying cause of many health or pain problems could be addressed and the body would be able to heal itself.
