We’ve been busy getting ready for Easter at Hutton Manor. We’ve been making some funny Easter bunny crafts as well as making hampers for our Easter raffle! We still have cute sweet pots on sale at £1.50 available in the cafe.
Our raffle will be drawn next Thursday just before Easter with tickets on sale now for £2!
All money raised go to our residents fund.

What a fantastic day for our annual spring fair! The sun was shining as friends family and the local community turned out in force to make the fair a great success. A huge thank you to the staff for all their hard work and to the talented stall holders, with their handmade products for joining us. We hope everyone had a wonderful day.

Hutton Manor only accepts cash although some stalls may use card readers so be prepared!

Have a great time! The residents and staff have worked really hard to make it a success!

Can’t get out to shop? Then we bring the shop to Hutton Manor.
We spent an afternoon shoe shopping with the wonderful Wynsors World of Shoes! We’d like them for visiting the home and making the residents day!

On Saturday we enjoyed our annual Mother’s day afternoon tea. Mother’s Day can be a difficult day for some and we recognise this and run a quieter activity program on the actual day. But Saturday was all about celebrating mums and mother like figures in our lives! 💐

Last week we celebrated world book day in style.
We had our annual poetry writing session, this is where each person writes a line or two about the person sitting next to them. This can be harder than you think, but also great fun and we’ve ended up with a fantastic poem!
With contributions from staff volunteers and residents, all helped by our wonderfully talented author and home resident Kate! Her books have been published world wide and are still on sale now much to Kates delight. She specialises in poetry specifically in Yorkshire dialect and was on hand to help the staff and residents come up with quirky funny lines to add to our Hutton Manor poem. 
We also took part in quizzes and puzzles as well as creating our own book covers.
The staff as usual really got into the spirit of things dressing as Cat in the hat, Minnie Mouse burglar Bill, but the best outfit by far was our amazing staff member Crystal who came as bananas in pyjamas 🍌

On Tuesday we held our brain day!
A full day dedicated to exercising the the most important muscle. We had our usual morning quiz, then a few brave individuals volunteered to take part in the first Hutton Manor mastermind competition.
Each person chose their specialist subject from History to Emmerdale, Leeds UTD to biology!
Then they were asked 5 questions, before taking it in turns to answer 5 more general knowledge questions.
After the scores were added up we finally had our winner. It was very close with our maintenance man Haydn and resident Jeff in second place, our first ever mastermind winner was…..
Olive! Huge well done on your victory, and thank you to staff members Haydn Vicky and Amy for being such good sports! Although you all really need to revise your subjects more 😉
