What an amazing week at Hutton Manor! Everyday the staff and residents have been fundraising for BBC Children in Need. On Monday we held our very own bake off. On Tuesday we had a Teddy Bears picnic. It was winning Wednesday with raffles and prizes before our biggest challenge a 25 mile walk to Shipley on Thursday. Today we held the final fundraising activity of the week, Our panto. We’ve raised lots of money, we’ll let everyone know the total once all our sponsors are in.

We were honoured to accompany friend of Hutton manor Jeffery Greaves to the Remembrance Sunday service in Pudsey at the weekend. Wearing his Fathers medal he joined the residents at the cenotaph to pay his respects.
Jeff was so proud to wear the medal and took time afterwards to tell the residents the story of how it was rediscovered and presented to him.
We at Hutton Manor Care Home are proud to have supported Jeff in attending the service and are so pleased for him and his family that the medal has been returned to the rightful owners.

It’s finally here! Hutton Manors Children in Need challenge!
It’s going be a full week of fundraising with a different theme each day.
BBC Radio two presents Sarah Cox starts her challenge today to run 130 miles ending in Pudsey on Friday. And while she technically won’t actually end her challenge in Pudsey, it’s a neighbouring town, there will be lots happening in the town to celebrate Children in Need including; pudsey bear challenge at our local leisure centre. For weeks the good people of Pudsey have been collecting coppers to recreate a giant Pudsey bear, we at Hutton Manor are one of the many collection points so any spare coppers you have, be sure to drop them off to us at the home before Friday.
We’ll be taking on our own walking challenge but not quite 130 miles! We are walking to Shipley along with local supporters and businesses to raise money! Then our big finale on Friday, the very first Hutton Manor Panto! Oh no we arent, Oh yes we are!
Snow White in Yorkshire! An adaptation of the fairytale classic Snow White!
Tickets on sale £3 each with every penny going to the charity.

The residents and staff paid their respects today as we visited the cenotaph to take part in the towns Remembrance Sunday service. We opened the home afterwards inviting the local community to join us for refreshments.
It was a somber and emotional experience for some but everyone agreed that they were proud to take part and remember their fallen friends.

Can you foster our guniea pigs?
Could you provide a temporary home for Petal and Blossom? We are looking for a temporary home over winter for our home pets, this can be indoors. Unfortunately Hutton Manor is a little too warm to keep them inside as they are kept outside throughout the summer months and the heat would be too much for our little furry friends. However a normal home temperature would be ok.
