💠Why do we eat when we’re not hungry?
Emotional eating is more common than you think—and it’s not about willpower.
🧠When we feel overwhelmed, lonely, bored or anxious, the brain looks for quick comfort. Foods high in sugar and fat trigger the brain’s reward system—releasing dopamine and calming stress hormones like cortisol. It works... for a moment.
🍫 But what we’re often really craving isn’t food—it’s relief, connection, or comfort. Maybe we’re needing rest, reassurance, or something meaningful to engage with. Food becomes a substitute for these deeper emotional needs.
Over time, emotional eating can become a habit loop:
Stress → Eat → Brief relief → Guilt → More stress.
🎯 The good news? We can break the cycle.
—therapies like hypnosis and NLP are highly effective
You’re not broken. Your brain’s just doing its best to help you cope. Let’s teach it better tools. 💪💚
